Nice job by the bottom of the Yankees order to get those two runs in. Now, how to play out the final three innings? Pettitte for the seventh. Rivera for the ninth. As for the seventh, maybe more Pettitte. Also they didn't list Proctor as one of the guys that Joe wanted to stay away from of the pregame.

EDIT: With tomorrow being an off day, and the Yankees really wanting this game considering there one reliable starter is pitching, maybe they combine the 8th between Pettitte and Rivera if they still have the lead.

Vizcaino all the way baby.

That's one of the guys that Joe said he didn't want to go to today. He pitched multiple innings in both games of this series. We won't see Vizcaino unless this is another extra inning game. Great job by Pettitte there, clearly at the end of the rope, getting through that inning 1-2-3 while going to three ball counts on all three of the hitters.

As for the last two innings. Obviously Mo will pitched the ninth, probably no more. I'm thinking he's go to Proctor for Swisher and Piazza. Chavez is next, and they'll probably go to Myers, especially if they're two outs, but that creates a problem. After Myers came in yesterday and was able to face Chavez and Walker back to back, the A's inserted Crosby in between them. So if the inning does not end with Chavez, I don't know what they'll do...maybe Mo. I don't know what they plan to do with Igawa, it's not like he had a very short outing on Friday.

I see they took the lead while I was making my kids dinner and preparing their bath. When is Posada going to start showing his age? f***er never shows signs of decline, and he's 6 months older than Varitek.

ORS, Posada ALWAYS starts fast. Then the wear and tear starts to show and he slumps, then he turns it on late.

Kielty didnt have a chance.

I think I spoke too soon about the luck part. As for Posada, he's really off to a great start. I don't expect him to keep it up all year, considering his age and position, but if he keeps up this level of play he's certainly going to be extended after this year.

I'd take a hot series from Varitek right now.
