Youk wins Most Valuable Jewish Player Award

The Chicago Jewish News has Kevin Youkilis as the 2006 winner of the Hank and Sandy Most Valuable Jewish Player Award.

 

It was a rather easy call with Shawn Green having an off year. Perhaps Youkilis will be challenged next year by Ian Kinsler. Astros right-hander Jason Hirsh will also be in the mix at some point.

Never heard of this ever before.

 

Red Sox last year had the most jewish players in the MLB though. They had 4 of the 13 Jewish major leaguers last season. (Kapler, Breslow, Youk, Stern)
