Im just sitting back here' date=' taking mental notes of posters easily dismissing a player who is 23 and being in the majors for what like a month?[/quote']

I'd like to see you show me the part where I "dismissed" him, all I said is that maybe he won't be a Yankee killer.

maybe it was just the tone

Im also referring to the likes of riccian blast, mr. crunchy (same person most likely), a700 hitter, and some fellow red sox fans Ive talked to while at Fenway Park. Its all about patience, some red sox fans need to absolve some of that when it comes to rookies

I can't wait till Beckett goes to baseball fantasy camp over the winter and learns about pitching. He could be good if he learned that pitches other than fastballs can be effective.

The boy thinks he can throw it by anyone, anytime. The man knows that isn't true. If this season hasn't induced Nuke's boy-to-man moment, nothing will.

Pena is starting to remind me of Dave Kingman, Rob Deer and that ilk. I hope that I am wrong. He's going to need to be a better all around player, because hitting 40 HRs is no BFD without more.

And Boston still has nothing to show for it.

Gee, if Ortiz's ball doesnt take a high bounce, Murphy wouldve scored easily.

But yea all that says about Ortiz, according to most Yankee fans/media/baseball writers: he is only a great hitter when Manny hits behind him (Hrs when Manny is not in the game, are gimmes by the umps), and he's nothing but a DH

If Tony Clarks ball doesnt bounce into the stands theres no "comeback". Whats your point?

Point being? Don't tell me the Jeter argument is aided by what Cano did and the fact that no runs crossed the plate for Boston after Ortiz put 3 runners in scoring position.

Tim McCarver: The Red Sox didnt make the trade for Bobby Abreu because Trot Nixon was therir starting right fielder

How about for getting the facts straight for once dumbass. The Sox were eeked at the sight of owing $27 million in taxes from taking on Abreu's contract. That money can be better used on building a better pitching staff this offseason.
