Yeah, the Sox game is next on channel 460. Right now it's Cubs 6, Pirates 5 in the bottom of the 11th.

Yeah, I turned to the channel that was sopposed to have the Sox game and they still had the Cubs game on but I found it on another channel also.

Branyan is actually the kind of player Id like on the bench, hes done good in his first game with the Padres.

Its funny. I'll never forget Russel Branyan. Back in 1999 the Yankees were playing the Guardians at the stadium and Branyan was starting in LF. During the game Branyan was getting destroyed by a couple of fans. It was non stop Russ sucks ETC and Branyan would go right back at them. It went on for the entire game. That was the more entertaining thing about that game besides the Ricky Ledee walk off.

Jesus Christ. Perfect double play ball by the Pirates and the Cubs throw it away. Tie game 6-6. C'mon Pirates! End this madness!

THE BATTLE FOR THE BASEMENT: Cubs vs. Pirates!!!

Cubs intentionally walk Duffy to load the bases with one out. Bautista coming up, he's 0-5 with 4 Ks tonight, but all he needs is a fly ball.

...and they walk him on five pitches to force in the winning run.

Carlos Pena with another strikeout. If he and Wily Mo play full time next year, they could set some record for K's by guys with same surname in the same lineup.

It should be intresting to see Beckett go from facing the worst offensive team in the AL to one of the best in Toronto this weekend. I will give Beckett credit, he was able to locate his pitches much better and he could get his curve over for once.

Beckett is odd cuz when he is good, he is really good. And when he is bad, hes awful. He rarely has middle of the road outings.

Beckett is much better with Mirabelli behind the plate.

Its intresting you made that comment because Rotoworld.com has made light of that alot this year:

Josh Beckett was pounded for seven runs in 4 1/3 innings by the A's in a loss on Friday night.

Not to let Beckett off the hook here, but it's past time that the media starts questioning Jason Varitek's game-calling abilities. A remarkable number of pitchers the Red Sox have brought in from outside the organization have been disappointments, yet Varitek is almost universally praised for his handling of the staff. Instead of being one of baseball's best defensive catchers, it's entirely possible that he's among the worst. Beckett is now 11-5 with a 5.12 ERA.

Josh Beckett gave up three more homers while allowing seven runs in six innings in a loss to the Guardians on Thursday.

Just like every other time he's gotten lit up this year, Beckett missed his spots with a fastball he used way too often. By using his curve and change to better effect, Beckett had his best outing of the season with Doug Mirabelli catching him on July 19. Still, those two haven't been paired in any of Beckett's three outings since. Ken Huckaby got a pity start tonight before losing his roster spot to Javy Lopez, a choice that might have cost the Red Sox the game.

nothing yet but likely he will get between 10-13 mil a season I bet. more towards the latter end.
That's not a bad value. I would doubt that they would shop him in the off-season.
