So let me get this straight....the last several series for the Yanks: ChiSox (1-2), Angels (2-2), Baltimore (1-2), Seattle (1-2), Red Sox (5-0)

.....baseball just doesn't make sense sometimes

Its quite amazing. They were playing brutal baseball coming into that Red Sox series then they go on a big 5 game run of non stop hitting. I'm not really suprised about the Seattle series loss. Seattle was coming off an 11 game losing streak and the Yankees were coming off a big series. All signs pointed to a let down.

Small cut on the f*** finger for Beckett' date=' not a blister.[/quote']

where did you hear that---i am watching FSN West

I really don't understand this move. Unlike the 7th, Timlin was actaully getting ahead on hitters. OC two hits tonight were on 0-2 pitches out over the plate.

Timlin has been a scrub lately. You go to papelbon for 4 outs if you have the chance.

So what you're saying is....Seattle is due to struggle next series while the Angels will be red hot??

He got 4 outs from Timlin and one from Wily Mo. That's as much as you can hope for. It was time to go to the stud.

Beckett came up huge tonight, and thank God it's just a cut and not a blister. I hope this is a turnaround for him and he starts pitching like he should be. If we can get Wake back soon, while having Wells, Schilling and Beckett giving us these types of starts (like we've seen them give us, they are perfectly capable of doing so), and if Lester can just remotely keep us in the game (like last night), this team does have a chance, albeit a small chance, to make the postseason. Even Timlin hasn't sucked as bad as he was! Foulke also looked pretty good, and Paps is Paps. The hitting just needs to stop leaving runners on base, and we should be fine...

The point is, Timlin was throwing better in the 8th than the 7th. OC will not hit the ball out of the park. I would have gone to Papelbon to face Vlad if he got on.
