posada hasn't been able to do anything lately and he just drills a triple---this season just went down the toilet,,we don't have the guys that can handle the adversity and bounce back

Our team sucks. 0-16 with RISP. Yeah, I think there is plenty of blame to go around.

I am going to commit suicide.

we scored 11 runs yesterday and 5 in 5 innings today , nothing wrong with that

at least the pats are playing tonight---becuase unless the sox comeback today, they can't recover (both in the standings and mentally) -----we are witnessing the death blow in our house no less.........and if the trend continues shill with only give up 2 tommorow and we will lose 2-1

Ahem the pitching has given up 36 runs so far in the first 3 games. You blame the offense for not being able to score 37 runs by now?

so we now have given up 36 runs and we aren't finished with the 3rd game yet----does timlin still think the pitching is keeping us in it

This is pathetic. It isn't Francona's fault. It really is Theo's fault. This is awful. Our FO better get their s*** together and have a good offseason.

Everything is the problem. The pitching is a problem, yes, but not hitting with RISP is just as bad.

Whatever, we can all agree that this team sucks.

I've tried to keep the faith, I really have, but there's nothing left. If this team makes the playoffs, I will gladly eat s***, but it's not happening.

That's one game. They've been squander happy this year, but they are still 2nd in the AL in R/Game. They haven't won a game where they scored less than 6 since July 20 against KC. Other than Schilling and Papelbon (and maybe Wells), this pitching staff sucks. That's 9 out of 12 pitchers that you can't count on.

i agree , francona has no pitcher to work with, they all suck right now except schilling and papelbon

What move could Theo have possibly made that would make this a playoff caliber pitching staff? This team was WAY WAY more than one pitcher from being a good pitching staff.

Just ignore him. He doesn't understand anything about baseball, and the situation the Sox are in. It is obvious a lot of people don't like a700 hitter, just ignore him. I have writen up so many rebuttals to his idiotic posts, but I don't like to argue with challenged people, that is just messed up.
That is a wise move not to argue with me, becuase I'd twist you up in your illogical arguments and frustrate the hell out of you. BTW I really don't care who likes me. You are cyber-people, not my friends.

Yo, a700hitter, the Red Sox aren't the Yankees, we can't just shell out 15 million when we want to. Sorry. Getting Abreu wouldn't have been a stupid move. It would've handicapped us for next year, and leave us with a bad staff, again. It would have just created a log jam. RF, besides DH, LF and closer is the position we least need to fix right now.
It was a much better move to let the Yankees have him and sit and watch "The Boston Masacre --Part II" How happy are you to watch our team being humiliated? BTW We have the second highest payroll in baseball. There is no reason why the team should be this bad except for FO incompetence.

It sounds like you like the wrong team. You whine too much. Maybe you should find a new team.
Thsi is my favorite stupid argument. Why don't you go root for the Twins or some other small market team that whines about finances and invests in a future that never comes.

Do you have a long term memory, or the ability to look at the long term? Do you understand anything about money? No. Wow. Damon is having 3 good days. He still won't be worth 14 million dollars for the next three years. That money can be better spent. Pedro, well, it's nice to see he is dominating the NL, not the AL, but the NL. It is also nice to see him on the bench.
Before he starts to decline, he'll have to stop getting better. I hope you enjoy watching him and Pedro performing at high levels in the post-season.

Call me a FO apologist if you want, but you have unrealistic expectations.
Okay, I'll call you an apologist.

Listen , this all started with a post where I thanked Theo for not picking up all of Abreu's contract. I sat and let you and the other guy go crazy about how he wouldn't fit our roster, yada yada yada. When I pull out the proof, that it was not about the logjam but it was about the money, you say yeah, but what about the $. Thank you for proving the point of my original post. I'll repeat it here: "Theo thanks for not picking up Abreu's full contract."

Come on 700, where are you. You say the above, when this was your first post regarding the subject:

Now you go silent when caught in a blatent lie---it's like arguing with a 6 year old

The above was sarcasm.

I don't get it. His position seems pretty consistent.

FOr all front office haters, what would have you done differently? Be realistic now. Remember you can't just waste money.

I mean, the Beckett deal looks like s*** now, but at the time, and for the start of the season, it looked great. Any GM would've made that deal.

It is easy for you whiners to complain in hindsight, but most of the things the FO has done looked great at the time, but have backfired.

So what would've you done? Trade Alex Gonzalez for Albert Pujols? Trade Coco for Andruw?

A lot of you are whining about Damon, but come on. Before these three days, no one really felt it was a mistake.

I can't stand this site. Too many whiners and three years olds with only short term memories.

please referance post #164
So, why did you waste so much of your energy arguing about him fitting in? I knew the issue was money from the beginning. I read the excuses in the article. I disagree with the FO not reaching into their pockets a little deeper to have given this team a chance. They didn't. If you are now limiting your argument to the Money, we can agree to disagree.

Uh, I have been against the Damon thing from the beginning. It was a stupid move and it messed with a great winning formula on offense. If you hate this site, go to another one. Go find Theo's fan club site.

Ok, enough of this worthless arguing. Money is the prevailing factor (please read all of my post ) however the logjam was an additional problem that we need not create to fill a hole that we didn't have. The main thrust of my argument is that we have other needs that need our attention and don't need to toss all that money at an area where we don't have a problem.
