I ain't giving up yet. No way the bats can stay cold forever. The rotation could look good with Schilling, an improved Beckett, an emerging Wells (with a fresh arm I might add) and with Wakefield coming back soon

KEEP THE FAITH!

Atleast they are getting a really solid effort from Wells to keep us in this game. He's having his second good outing in a row. We haven't had a starter have two good outings in a row in I don't know how long. This is what the pitching needs to do when the bats go silent. Up till now, our starters have let us get blown out and dug the offense huge holes to crawl out of.

I always found it amazing how that happens. Its possible when enough guys go into a slump that the whole team can. Someone needs to step up and give this team some life.

That's why I like what Timlin did, he called out the team. They lack the motivators like Millar. I love what he did. Maybe he will give them life.

And I agree, we are scared to have a lead bosox21. Maybe they just like to make comebacks, and fail most of the time.

DFA Loretta? Wtf?

But yeah, it seems like the red sox really don't enjoy winning right now. Maybe they're all alcoholics and now that wells has come back their all on the sauce. Maybe they're all a bunch of depressed drunks and they lose and then they sit around the club house drunk dial the other team. Maybe its become a routine. Who knows. We need to trade for a happy drunk, like Millar. Enthusiasm is contagious. He'll bring the chicken and he'll make jokes, braid someones hair. It will be great.

I can’t wait until we can see some evidence that his “pep talk” worked.

This team need Francona to go "Ozzie Guillen' on them. Call them out and tell them that they stink. It worked for Ozzie last year as his team was collapsing. Leyland called his team out earlier in the year and it worked.

Come on Boomer. Only 80+ pitches. Take it into the 8th please. That, along with an off day would be huge for the pen going into the Yankee series.

BTW, Coco has been playing great lately, maybe he just needed some reassurement, and being placed in the lead off spot again gave him a boost of confidence, and performance. I do like him leading off and Youks providing some protection.

Almost a full 7 out of Boomer tonight. Hansen coming in…fasten your seatbelts everybody.

Edit: And Hansen gets out of the inning with one pitch.

Average night for David Wells (good by Red Sox standards). Almost made it through 7 innings but giving up more than 10 hits....something we seem to do every game.
But since he almost never walks anyone, 10 hits is not fatal. Mix 10 hits with 4 or 5 walks and you have a blowout. Wells pitched really well. He made 2 mistakes on the HRs.

Boomer the stopper, or as much of a stopper as we have.

I was impressed though. He made a few mistakes, and they capitalized. But all in all, good outing.
