It is the bottom of the 2nd and the sox are facing the Royals. I have a feeling this 2 run deficit is transient.

Agreed, I'm tired of playing from behind. I want a good ole thrashing one of these days.

Lester's running out of gas. That's what I've seen his last few outings. I mean running out of gas like he has nothing left in the tank to go out every 5 days.

Again, more reason that we needed a f***ing starter at the deadline.

It's called rookie struggles. Not all pitchers come on the scene as rookies like Francisco Liriano.

Thats what I was hoping for....Verlander, Liriano, Weaver, Sowers.....I guess you can only have one of those guys a year and ours was Papelbon.

Lester doesn't have the control of any of those guys and doesn't have the "out-pitches" they do

And one of his struggles is running out of gas. I wasn't expecting a Liriano, but he's obviously running out of gas. Look at his last few outings. I understand he has control issues, I understand he's a rookie, and because of these "rookie struggles" (which are, by the way, occurring in our #3 starter), Theo should have known that we needed a starter a little more urgently than he thought.

I'm not hating on Lester, I'm using his struggles, and the role he plays in our rotation, as an example of the terrible situation that our rotation is in, and the dire need of another starter that we all know existed.

I've never seen this many Sox fans so down on their team.

I know you had your injuries, but at least you guys still played well enough to keep up with us. This is just starting to become a joke. When you drop 4 of your last 11 when you know you could have done so much better at the deadline it kind of gets to ya.

EDIT: Especially when you just went 3-4 against teams like Cleveland and Tampa Bay in a 7 game stretch.

Different pitchers. Lester is a finesse guy, so he will have his lumps until he gets a feel for the hitters he is facing and until he gets the respect from the umps to get those close pitches. Liriano is a power guy who blows people away. He doesnt rely on finesse, just stuff, so he would be fine right off the bat.

I hear ya. I would be concerned also however if you look at this game the Royals lead 2-0 in the top of the 4th. If Hudson or the Royals pen doesnt blow this I would be pretty suprised.

Lester is a mixture of both as he can reach 94-95 when he has too. Hes not a straight finesse pitcher.

As long as the Sox take 2 of 3 in this series, they should keep pace with the Yankees till the weekend.

If Hudson or the Royals pen doesn't blow this there is something seriously wrong with the Red Sox lineup. They only have 1 hit as of now.

2 hits now, as Manny doubles. Thank God. Let's go Youk.

true, but he is a guy who essentially sits at 91-92, and that doesn't qualify you as a power pitcher in my opinion.
