This coming from a guy who roots for a team that robbed the D-Backs blind for Schilling.

Please, that was one instance, its no secret that the yanks have the most money, by far in baseball.

It is a good deal despite the fact its crap. The Yankees continue to be the worst thing in baseball. Feeding off the teams that don't have the same market and money as the Yanks. I mean look at this projected lineup:

1. Johnny Damon

2. Derek Jeter

3. Jason Giambi

4. Alex Rodriguez

5. Bobby Abreu

6. Gary Sheffield

7. Hideki Matsui

8. Jorge Posada

9. Robinson Cano

.....it might be cheaper to just purchase the championship from Major League Baseball.

To be quite honest, I wish the Red Sox could put together a lineup like that.

Why should we be afraid of a .270 hitter with 8 HR who has done s*** since the 2005 All-Star Break?

Because he's a sizable upgrade over Williams/Guiel in RF.

His batting average isn't really relevant. His OBP is hovering around .440.

That being said, the Yankees should have added a SP. (Impact)

We gave them a MLB-ready young left-handed pitcher. It didn't work out for Fossum but there was a time he had ability. Who the hell is CJ Henry?? Is he a SS?? Makes sense for a team that has Rollins and Utley playing the middle infield for the next 7-10 years.

Henry was a 1st round pick according to all of the scouting reports on baseball america has 5 tool type talent. Hes just very raw. Fossum was and still is a junk baller. Curt Schilling for some junk baller lefty? PLEASE! Henry is also projected to move to the OF btw.

65 RBI? 61 Runs? 20 Stolen Bases? .320 Avg w/ RISP?

Not to forget what he'll do for our outfield defense.

You guys also didnt take Pedro Martinez from the Expos? Or sign Manny Ramierez away from the Guardians. Please you guys do it too the Yankees just overpay more often.

It's an excellent move by the Yankees, and if our FO had a pair of balls they would have done it. Abreu would've been the #5 Hitter we need and Lidle would have filled the empty rotation spot.

Keep trying to talk up CJ Henry. His numbers in A-ball suck and I don't think any of that crap the Yanks gave the Phillies will do anything at the major league level. The Phillies have always needed pitching and they didn't address that in this trade. Other teams could have given them better young pitching. Something that would have helped them down the road. It was a terrible trade for the Phillies but they made it as a business decision (money) and not the best interest for the team (talent). The Yankees have an overwhelming advantage on every team because they are the only ones that can do a trade based on money alone.

I'm not trying to talk up anyone. Read the scouting reports. BTW I'm not even trying to defend the deal. The orignal point was the Red Sox also rip off smaller market teams. Dont act like you have never done it.

A lot of teams make the attempt....the Red Sox (2nd highest payroll) do it once in a great while. Its not an occurance every offseason and every trade deadline. Almost the entire Yankee team is made up from rip-off deals and out bidding every team in the free agency market.

I just think its the pot calling the kettle black. You guys do take advantage of the money you make. Its its not Curt Schilling, its Loretta for a back up catcher, or taking advantage of the fact the Marlins wanted to dump Lowell's contract and get something for Beckett who they werent going to resign (fair trade but in a perfect world the Marlins would have kept Beckett).

Exaggerate much?

And the thing they don't understand is that their homegrown guys were the main reasons they had their great run in the 90's. Somewhere along the way George decided that it was more important to gather big names (Arod, Sheffield, Giambi, Matsui, Randy Johnson, Mike Mussina, etc.) than win championships.

Every position in your field besides SS, 2B, and Catcher are filled by players bought by the Yankees. Also your top 2 pitchers.

Care to take that comment back?

ESP when you consider the Red Sox have only 2 POS players from the farm and when they won that title they only had Nixon and he played like 70 games or so that season. Please Sox fans as much as you hate it if you guys got offered this deal you would want your team to do it.

Not 3B. They gave up Soriano, and looking at what's been happening, I don't think that was a "steal."

Yeah sorry that falls under the rip off category, not bought.

No, because what you said isn't true.

Since the all star break here are his numbers.

.192 0 hr 6 rbi obp% .306

He has a career low .861 OPS

Not to mention hes also ranked 109th in the majors with 147 total bases which is also a good measuring stick 38th among outfielders so I would also say he is about average.

I love when Yankee fans do this. See there's a huge difference here. We get players like David Ortiz, who are mediocre, and turn them into superstars. Or we get players like Mike Lowell and they revive their careers. We rarely go out and get the huge name superstar players as the yankees do ... (ARod, Giambi, Sheffield, Matsui, RJ, Mussina, etc.).

You have to attribute some of that to the constant trade rumors and contract issues.

Please explain how it isn't true? Giambi, Arod, Sheffield, Matsui, Damon, RJ, and Moose. Tell me which doesn't fit under the bought or ripped off umbrella?

Yeah we all know when someone says your name on ESPN you go into a slump. That's proven. And it's not like he did the exact same thing last year, or anything ...

Did you not read my prior post? The Sox spend cash they just dont over spend as much as the Yankees. I've said that many times. But if you read some of the post here you would think the Red Sox never benifited from a salery dump which is what this was.
