for the AL it should be

C- Mauer

1b-Travis Hafner (guy gets no respect)

2b-Brian Roberts (for his combination of good hititng at the plate and good baserunning with 15 steals)

SS- Jeter

3b- Lowell (A-Rod is going to get it due to ignorant fans, proof that the All-Star voting sucks)

OF-Ichiro

OF-Vernon Wells

OF-Jermaine Dye

I don't watch the NL enough to vote for them.

Arod- 60 runs, 62 Hits, 13 Homers, 45 RBI's, 5 SB's, 37 BB's, .286 Average, .395 OBP

Lowell-30 runs, 68 hits, 7 homers, 23 RBI's, 1 SB, 16 BB's, .329 Average, .379

It would occur to me those ignorant fans are right.

Lowell's VORP 18.7

AROD's VORP 12

Take into account AROD's defensive errors and Lowell's great play in the field he deserves it over AROD. He won't win though as AROD has the name recognition. Glaus is now at 15.3 VORP, Chavez is at 13.1 VORP and Blalock is at 15 VORP. AROD doesn't deserve the all star selection this year and has been pretty average this year in the AL for 3B and pretty bad on defense.

Hell AROD gets booed at his own home stadium.

Same reason I don't think Jeter doesn't deserve, gotta do more than just hit for a good average.

Well Lowell doesnt just hit for high average. He's also been playing more gold glove D. It will probably come down between him & Chavez by season's end in that category. Tied for the league in extra base hits. Hell he's having a season that will put him in contention for AL comeback player, my guess though that it will go to Jim Thome. Projected for 2006-- .320 avg, 20 HRs, 90+ RBIs

:what:

Looking at foxsports mlb page, and well its showing Ozzie's lineup for the All-Star game...

1. Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez

2. David Ortiz

3. Mark Loretta

4. Alex Rodriguez

5. Derek Jeter

6. Vladimir Guerrero

7. Magglio Ordonez

8. Ichiro Suzuki

9. Pitcher

Maybe its just me but Ichiro & Mahk would be much more formidable at the top to set the line for the sluggers. Has Pudge ever led off the game before?

David Ortiz, Red Sox, 1B

Alex Rodriguez, Yankees, 3B

Vladimir Guerrero, Angels, LF

Ivan Rodriguez, Tigers, C

Fox Sports is so unreliable, I mean, that lineup is laughable. David Ortiz in the 2nd spot with Loretta 3rd is insane, Jeter at 5 and Vlad at 6? holy cow, where did they get that?

Has everyone seen the starting pitchers for the All-Star Game

AL: Kenny Rogers

NL: Brad Penny

I realize that the AL's hands were tied due to Halladay Santana and Contreras all pitching on Sunday, but Brad Penny? How about Brandon Webb or even Bronson Arroyo?

I do not like the starting pitching matchup, it seems cheap.
