2 games in a row he has pitched bad. Im not going to worry about. Toronto's offense was extremley hot going into that game and the Yankees offense is the best in baseball. Hes already shut down the yanks once this year

I am not saying he can't do it---i am saying he needs to change his approach. It honestly looks like he is just up there throwing, like he has no approach to the game. Why in the world would you keep shaking off tek (who is known for calling great games), especially when you are getting shelled?

The Red Sox need to reassemble that batting order.

1. Youkilis

2. Loretta

3. Ortiz

4. Ramriez

5. Lowell

6. Crisp

7. Nixon

8. Varitek

9. Gonzalez

I am all for that lineup. that is what the lineup should be.

How looooooooooooooooooooooooooooow can you go.

You'd think for a national company they'd have less crappy commercials.

Hey hey hey I like those commercials.

no but he is one of the players we need to get going if we want to win the division, along with tek.

we do, but i dont think it will happen. I think Trots at the end of the line, with all the injuries he's had. He just isn't anything special anymore.

not bad for what the sox have now, but i think they're going to need to go out and get a bat by the deadline.

Unless Willy Mo can come back and show some more power

Wily Mo Pena should be that player. Varitek and Gonzalez can be the two auto-outs in our lineup.

The Red Sox need another starter, as good as Pauley was tonight, he isn't likely to repeat those performances over the course of the year.

No such things as s*** seats when it comes to the Sox/Yankees. No?

True, but last year I went to a game and had seats three rows behind the Red Sox dugout. So there may not be such a thing as a s*** seat but there are fantastic ones.

i remember the Mariners asking for Trot during the offseaon. I think they were willing to give up Meche or Pineiro in return. Would anyone be up for that deal? Meche has pitched pretty good this season and could be a good 5th starter

I don't know why I do this to myself. I was just curious to see what the call on WEEI sounded like of Melky robbing Ramirez so I decided to listen to it online. As if watching it on NESN and hopping off my couch as the ball was hit wasn't enough. What a tough evening.

I'd do it. He's put up about a 4.5 ish ERA.

I'd take that from a #5 starter.

Edit - Meche - 4.19 ERA, Piniero 4.62.

Why does everyone think that Pauley will be crap now? He pitched well in Toronto, and great tonight. He was visibly nervous in Toronto and it showed in his delivery, he was more calm tonight and did a great job----i say we give him his chances to either do it or not!

Meche's is 4.52 this year and hes been pretty consistent in his starts. Usually letting up somewhere between 2-5 runs in his starts except for 2 times. He let up 1 R his last start and 6 the start before. Much better than Clement, as Meche is atleast consistent.

No' date=' I wouldn't do it now. Maybe later, when Pena comes back. And ask for someone else too.[/quote']

Trot is not going to be looked at very good by other teams looking to trade. His 33, in his contract year and is always injured. His stats aren't great either for a below average RF. .296 with 5 HR isnt hard to find in the OF now and days

Id actually rather Pineiro, since Meche's away ERA is 6.86.

But whatever the case, we need someone. Wells probably wont be it, Clement certainly wont be and we arent sure if Pauley will be be good. Theres also Lester, but 2 of these 4 guys need to atleast pitch well enough as the #5 as long as we get another starter

36 pages? It's almost not even worth posting in this thread. Eh, oh well.

Good game tonight. Very good. Not just because the Yankees won, but because it was very exciting and really held my interest throughout. Both pitchers were OUTSTANDING, and it was just a solid game. I'm disappointed at the lack of hitting in the 2-3-4 spots in the Yankee lineup tonight, and Andy Phillips' streak ended. But aside from all that it was a good game. I enjoyed seeing Farnsworth strike out Ortiz again, and then seeing my boy Melky make the great play (I think I should send out some more "I Told You So"'s regarding Melky. I've been behind this kid since last summer and everybody called me crazy, and he's looking damn good this season.). Enjoyable series so far, hope it holds up.

David Pauley took his first loss despite holding the Yankees to two runs in 6 2/3 innings on Tuesday night.

Pauley pitched an excellent ballgame, but Red Sox manager Terry Francona decided to let him lose it. With the score 1-1 and two outs in the seventh, Pauley gave up an infield single on a ball he should have made a play on. A legit single from Johnny Damon followed, which obviously should have meant the end of the night for Pauley. If anyone except Francona was managing. Only after walking Melky Cabrera on four pitches was Pauley removed. That forced Rudy Seanez to enter with the bases loaded and the AL's most patient hitter, Jason Giambi, at the plate. A walk followed, and the Yankees won 2-1. Jun. 6 - 10:05 pm et

I'm going to nitpick your entire post just for the hell of it.

Both pitchers were outstanding? I'd Pauley was above average and Wang was average. The Red Sox have a problem where they don't hit with a guy standing on second base. Wang was bailed out three times in that department, and was helped out by three double plays. Manny being Manny also helped out extremely.

Melky Caberra isn't proving he's anything more than a defensive replacement or fourth outfielder. Though, to give Melky credit, he is showing excellent patience at the plate. But, on the downside, he lacks the track record to keep that up.

As for telling us so, no team is going to want Caberra. He doesn't hit enough to justify being a COF. Caberra's ISOP, is a whopping ~.68. To compare, that's on the likes with another fearsome power hitter. His name is Juan Pierre. Great player? No, but an average role player? Yeah, you'd go with that.

Absolutely well put Crespo.

most of it's probably bitching about Seanz.

Great job by "Pauley," but he got in the way of progress.

Pauley isn't much of a pitcher. He's a fifth starter at best. He is the perfect example of how desperate the Boston Red Sox are for pitching.

I won't ever be able to understand how the Yankees are playing as well as they are. Their offense looks above average, the pitching staff is average, and the defense is below average.

I guess that's why the play the game. (f*** you, Chris Berman)
