Pitchers that have taken one off the melon have acknowledged that it has affected their delivery. Pettitte said he had trouble finishing his pitches after he had taken one off the schonozola. I am not saying that Clement would not have sucked in the second half, but the head-ringer didn't help. To his credit, Clement never used it as an excuse. So a pussy he is not.

Can we move Pabblebon back to the rotation now?

Tavarez would need to step it up first and show that he can be reliable. Foulke has looked better and better every time out, and I think Timlin will be solid. Can't move Papelbon to the rotation unless there are three solid guys in the bullpen.

In the regular season, serviceable starting pitching with solid bullpen and offense will win you more games than a solid rotation and a serviceable pen and offense. Those teams that have both a strong pen and a strong rotation, even if it is only 1-3 will be very successful in the reg season and the playoffs. Think about it, if your pen blows half the games that your stellar starting pitching gives to them, then they neutralize your starters. But, if you get 75% of those solid pitching performances, but you close out nearly 90% of them, then you will win more games....

Finally a win against Toronto. Nice to take at least one of three and avoid being swept. Overall it was a good game and the Sox played really well the pitching was solid and the bats were strong. Now onto Cleveland as Schilling and his 4-0 record will start on Tuesday.

great game by the sox. foulke is looking better each game he pitches on , dont let his era fool you ,in 12.2 IP he has allowed only 8 hits with 2 walks and one homerun allowed,. opponants batting average just .222 and his WHIP of .79 wich only papelbon has better
