To be honest I'd rather Kevin Thompson take over as the 4th OFer. Hes just as good as a fielder and he has a better bat. Chances are they will send Thompson down when Crosby is ready anyway.

I have a question for you. Do you regret your user name now?

Pretty much and watch the Yankees will keep him around because he has "heart".
I hate when a manager or FO does that. Everyone in the ballpark will no that a guy can't cut it, but they keep him around because of his great attitude and hustle. Get me a slacker that can hit .300 and crush the ball.

He came up HUGE for us last September when he got consistent playing time; I think it would be better to give him the chance to show us what he can do than just get rid of him (which the Yankees would have to do, as he has no more options.)

You already have that, most people call him "Manny."

Manny is not a slacker. He is an airhead. He works very, very hard at his hitting, and this year he has worked very hard to improve his fielding. Occasionally, he does not run out a ball, but the SOB is on base so much that he'd be pulling muscles if he ran hard all the time. If people think he is a slacker, that's okay. I'll take half a dozen more just like him. Pitchers would break out in nervous rashes if they had to face a lineup like that.:)

I know he hit that big HR against Baltimore and he played a solid CF when Bernie couldnt hack it out there anymore but I still feel over the long haul Thompson will be better.

i think cabrerras a player who could be a monster if he had some more pop in his bat

time may aid that

hes got speed,a decent arm and makes contact

hes a keeper and an allstar IF he can get to the 20hr 85-100rbi plateau

OPT clearly doesn't watch the Sox often, which is fine and makes his erroneous statement excusable.

from what's been said about Manny's off the field work ethic, i.e. studying pitchers, there is no one who takes his craft more serious than Manny.

an occasional blip in the basepaths isn't nearly reason to label the man a slacker.

manny looks like hes baked and sometimes plays like it but if i recall

didnt he lead mlb outfielders in assists??

didnt he hit 40-120 .298?

AGAIN

the man is a run producing machine

the most consistant right handed power hitter ive ever seen in my life and at this time i'd personally like to thank george stebbenheimer for taking arod and allowing us to keep manny

no way we win that thing in 04 with arod and no manny

The Yankees going for "Sweep Redux?" I think the Tribe are gonna beat them senseless. No way the Yankees take more than 1 game in this series.

From what I've seen, you're wrong about 95% of the time with predictions...so this post makes me optimistic.

These out-of-market games are my favorites. I'm not in the New York City area and tonight's game is on UPN 9; usually they'd just show those games on the local Fox network, but not always. When they don't the game is shown on the public access channel, which means you just get the feed from the Stadium. And that means you get to hear what the announcers say during the commercials and before the game. My favorite moment from one of these games was last year, when you just saw Micheal Kay fixing his hair for like five minutes and then he said, "God, I am one good looking guy."

A-Rod almost just dropped a pop up. I guess he didn't want to wait half an inning to hear boos.

...and now he misses a play he probably could have made...
