here's my quote from the SI thread....

No, that is your new line, the one you adopted after ST performance and reports said Schilling was looking much better. You don't get credit for that being your opinion all along because it wasn't. Allow me.

we shall see. I have a feeling Curt will not be the horse that everyone thinks he is. I think your rotation will be good enough to keep you competitive in spite of schilling, not because of him....

That was your original stance. In that thread you say you think the injury cooked him for good, that he was healthy when he struggled last year, and he sucked because he'd never be the same again. Clearly, he is a different pitcher now than he was from July on of '05. Better control, better velocity, better stuff, better stamina. So, my point remains. You have changed your opinion now in light of contradictory evidence, but your prediction is essentially the same, only you have altered the timeframe of Schilling's demise. Pretty transparent, if you ask me. Like I said, come May, I fully expect that your doom and gloom forcast will be moved to the 2nd half if Schilling is still pitching well. And so on, and so on.

BTW, ask anyone here, I have the memory of a f***ing elephant. Don't play the, "I'll pull up some of my old quotes", game with me. It will end badly for you.

okay, look at the post I made about him having a solid opening day. I still have the stance that he will be mediocre at best over the long haul. Period. There is nothing more in that....

btw, lets not flatter yourself. You may have the memory of an elephant, but their memories truly arent that great compared to your typical hick idiot. So if you have the memory of an elephant, it is likely that your memory is as solid as the last kid on the short bus in the middle of kentucky....

TheRivernator: No one cares to talk about the Yankees in this forum further than making small jokes about them. We don't need your two cents. So take your pathetic "One team. One mission." t-shirt and prance back over to the General Baseball Board. Congrats on your dominance in one game against Oakland. Do you need me to post the series record of Boston v. Oakland? THAT is dominance.

Nice. Take a metaphoric figure of speech and interpret it literally. Your wit is about as sharp as a spoon. Care to dissect that one too?

I fully agree, but you are going to have to do better than that.

Always great to start out with a win. All I've heard off season is hype about how the Red Sox are going to finish in third behind the Jays and the Yanks. Time to prove them all wrong.

Agree with you on that and I dont think we are being ahead of ourselves here.

Say what you want about the state of Texas. As long as in the end, I root for the team not full of over-payed, steroid-using punks. P.S. Keep A-Rod, please.

Juan Gonzalez wasnt juicing? Rusty Greer? Pudge? Canseco? Palmeiro? Your clubhouse, according to Canseco, was the beginning of the steroid scandal. So yeah, you did root for over-paid and over-hyped steroid users.

As for any other team, steroids pervades the game. I have former teammates playing in the minors and a few in the show and they will readily admit that it is just as prevalent as it was before the suspensions were handed out. People just get smarter and chemists will always be one step ahead of the doping agency. There are high profile proven abusers, but there are certainly many more guys who havent been caught, and to think that your team or any team is steroid free is naive and incorrect....

That may be true, and 90% of the majors may be on HGH. However with that said you are innocent until proven guilty in this country and sheff and giambi have both admitted to it under oath! Let's not gloss over the facts with "well everyone is doing it" crap! I am one who wants the game clean and if that means dumping everyone who uses, then that's fine with me no matter who they are!

What? What do you mean...?

Oh. Oh! I get it now! Hahaha, you are a funny person, you.

Troup on the radio thought the gun in texas was alittle fast and that foulke wasn't throwing as hard as it showed.
The ESPN gun had him at 86-87. The Stadium gun had him at 88-89.

Riverside, I was sky high after yesterday's game because it all came out well except for Foulke's sad performance, but I am back down to reality today. We need a good outing from Wakefield and by that I mean we cannot afford to see him give up as assortment of home runs as sometimes is the case. If he does his job tonight and we give him decent support we ought to win our second game. A lot of ifs? Maybe, but the bullpen is rested and Texas pitching is hitable from where I sit. You know it was the first opening day victory for us since I started following the Red Sox in 2001. Perhaps a good omen?

Why act like a dork Rivernator? It seems you are just out to pull our chains. Yes, the Yankees looked awesome last night but the fact is none of us are a damn bit interested in anything the Yankees do except when we mash them in head to head combat. It is one thing to praise your team; another to try and get Red Sox fans mad by dissing us. You Yankee fans just can't seem to understand that there is a world of difference between your fans and ours. Ours don't disappear when when we have a bad season or two. I can remember when Red Barber lost his job in 1966 when he had the cameraman take a series of views of the stands the year you guys finished in 10th place. There were less than 1500 people there and the trend continued until the Yankees revived in 1976. It also happened again in the Eighties and into the Nineties when it seemed every fan in New York was suddenly for the Mets. So don't give us any of your nonsense.
