We jinxed him with that thread saying he shouldn't be in the HOF! What were we thinking.

But all kidding aside, I hope he recovers fully. Strokes are no fun.

For a guy that played the game with such energy, enthusiasm and reckless abandon, he sure has had some major debilitating health problems. Whether he deserves to be a HOFer, it was a lot of fun to watch him play.

I cant help but thinking of Chris Rock right now...

"The only black people in Minnesota, are Prince, and Kirby Puckett."

In all seriousness, hopefully hes ok.

Get well, Kirb...we want you to get back to your unwelcomed breast grabbing and bathroom stall abusing self sooner then later! You can't very well threaten the life of a woman from a hospital bed.

Not to be insensitive, but maybe he got what's coming to him?

I'm not a cold hearted individual, it just irks me when there's loads of wellwishers to a guy who's straight up not a good human being. I enjoyed watching Kirby as much as the next guy....unfortunatley Kirby Puckett The Person isn't half as good as Kirby Puckett The Player.

I hope he gets well for the sake of the other people in his life...like his kids and such. But that's pretty much the only reason why.

So does everyone think I'm a miserable human being or is anyone with me?

As someone who has lived with a stroke victim I can't believe anyone would say that Kirby "got what's coming to him".

Do you know Kirby personally? Do you know what his day to day life is like? What irks me is that society judges others, especially those in the spotlight who we truly know NOTHING about (except from what the media portrays).

Maybe it wasn't Head's call to say Kirby got what was coming to him, but I'm sure there are some women in Minnesota who feel the same way.

I'm not saying that strokes aren't debilitating, heart-breaking, and downright tragic. Strokes have effected my family and my circle of friends directly. I whole heartedly agree with you...we do judge others, especially those in the spotlight that we know NOTHING about...which is whyyyy everyone loved the portly dude hustling his ass off playing Center Field in Minnesota...that's what we knew him as, because that's what the public portrayed him as. But then, the truth came out. The Kirby Puckett Admitted Truth as a matter of fact.

It's such an unfair standard when we look at baseball players...do you mean to honestly say to me if Tom Smith, driveway sealer from St Louis sexually assaulted a woman in a bathroom stall, groped a woman without her permission, and then threatened his then wife's life, we'd all be pulling for him too? I think it's a lot of ********.

Maybe it wasn't my call...but I'm a strong believer in what goes around comes around.

My heart goes out to Kirby's kids and family...because I know what it's like to see someone that you care about in that type of situation. I gotta be honest though...those kids and that family are really the only people I feel sorry for in this situation, those are the only places that my condolences go, not to Kirb himself...

This really makes me sad.

Also, you know what is freaky, when I went to the Sox-Twins game in Ft. Myers sunday morning (when Kirby had the stroke)at the Twins stadium, the parking lot was divided into sections named after famous Twins. We were parked on Puckett Boulevard.

DAMNIT. This is very sad news... I cannot believe so many bad things can happen to a man who did so much with the talent he had.

I'm hopeful people will remember him for who he was rather than what happened to him health-wise...

RIP Kirby. I rescind my comments about you not deserving the HOF, may all those that know and love you find strength at this sad time.

You shouyldnt do that. You can pay respect to a man without changing your mind about his career. I'm sad for him losing his life at a young age, but his baseball stats have nothing to do with it

True, I was just being respectful.

I'll add to that also

RIP Kirby, you wans't the perfect guy off the field, but neither am I. I don't think you deserved to be in the HOF based on your stats, but everything I've read about you seems to agree you were a heckuva ballplayer when you played (I would have liked to watch you more, but you were pre-MLB Extra Innings)
