What are you talking about? They have all shon a positive attitude towards this thing? What has Tek done to show more interest than anybody else?

I think he means that Tek is more into it. Some guys look like they're not trying their hardest but Tek definitely is.

I see full effort from everyone, IMO. Everyone looks psyched to be in this.

Cant wait for tomorrow, Rog better shut down South Africa. And hopefully if Canada wins tonight (i'll be glued to the TV), we automatically advance tomorrow with a win.

All I have watched is the Canada game. In that game what I saw was the USA guys look like they didn't care---that's what I saw, and i hope that I am wrong. I saw Tek playing his heart out, while I saw other guys look like they were loafing it. While the Canada team was completely into the game. Once USA got down they looked like they didn't care---the only exitment i saw was when tek in the GS. I was just making an observation on what I saw in the game.

I have really been looking forward to the WBC, however they need a rules change. The USA beats Mexico (shuts them out) and then loses to Canada (by 2 runs) and tonight if Mexico beats Canada and holds them to a run or less, then the USA is eliminated! ---- That's crap that a team can be 1 and 1; and be eliminated by the team that they just beat! (who will have the same record if the USA wins tommorow) Guess i am rooting for Canada tonight!

This sucks, it looks like the Canada/Mexico game is on ESPN at 3am! Nice job guys. It may be on ESPN Deportes, but I don't have that so I don't know!

The mlb.tv link for the Canada vs. Mexico game connects to the Venezuela vs. Australia game. This sucks.

That means the US just needs to beat S. Africa and they're on to the second round.

EDIT: And, yeah, retried the link and it's the right game now.

EDIT2: RSR, are you getting audio out of your stream? I'm not.

I thought that if this score holds up, then the USA is done no matter what happens tommorow.

If this score holds and the US wins, then there will be a three way tie. The first tie-breaker is head to head, but each team will be 1-1 against the other 2 teams. The second tie-breaker is the Runs Allowed agains the teams in the tie. Mexico has given up 2 runs (thus far) in their games against the US and Canada, the US has given up 8 (all last night) in their games against Mexico and Canada, and Canada has given up 12 (thus far). No matter the outcome of this game, if the US wins tomorrow, they are in.

6-0....

ehh. I was pulling for Canada. Oh well, thank God "Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla" is on at 9:05. :thumbsup:

What channel? I loved that movie when I was a kid. Isn't that where Godzilla goes from menace to hero?

Ohh, ok. The guys on PTI had it wrong then. (big surprise). They said that Canada had to win or at least score 3 runs or the USA was done tonight!

Yeah, they get s*** wrong all the time. It was Mexico scoring 3 or more runs gets the US in (provided they win).

They'd better win. I can't imagine the rocket's last game (in theory) as a loss to south africa!

Isnt the game on Channel 9?

yeah, in the New York market. These guys dont get it.

This sucks. 9-0 Mexico. That means that even if we win tomorrow we're not guaranteed advancement in the tourney. If Mexico wins, and we win tomorrow, then it goes into all this complicated tie-breaker stuff.

Not true. Look a few posts up; I explained the tie-breaker. We win, we're in.

I was pulling for Canada because if they win, that makes Mexico 1-2, which allows us to advance if we win tomorrow. That's why I said it sucks.

But yea, I just now saw your posts. I'm still a little confused by it all, however, i'll take you for your word. Seems like you know what you're talking about here.

Where did you read.hear that, just curious? Maybe that source can answer some more questions I have.

From the WBC website, at the bottom of the Standings page:

TIE-BREAKING PROCEDURES

Teams will be ranked by winning percentage in Round 1, with the top two teams in each pool advancing to Round 2. Teams will be ranked by winning percentage in Round 2, without regard to the results of Round 1, with the top team in each pool advancing to the Semifinal round. In both rounds, ties shall be broken in the following order of priority:

1. The winner of head-to-head games between the tied teams;

2. The team allowing the fewest runs per nine innings (RA/9) in head-to-head games between the tied teams;

3. The team allowing the fewest earned runs per nine innings (ERA) in head-to-head games between the tied teams;

4. The team with the highest highest batting average (AVG) in head-to-head games between the tied teams;

5. Drawing of lots, conducted by WBCI.

Note: Standings and Tie-Breaking Procedures are based on International Baseball Federation rules.

Nothing too worry about U.S.A will advance tommorow unless they loose to South Africa which they won't do. So basically Team Canada is done in the tourny which really sucks unless a miracle can happen. And i'm pretty sure because of the runs Mexico will get first place in Pool B.

Just for an update. ESPNEWS has it running at the bottom of the screen as well. So if the USA wins tommorow, we advance! By the way, thanks "one red seat" for explaining it earlier---after hearing the PTI guys get it wrong, and Mexico up big, I wasn't feeling too good!:D

Well the USA is playing today at 3 est in a do or die game---and it's not on TV until 3am tommorow-----------thanks ESPN. It's on live on ESPN deportes, but of course hardly anyone actually gets that channel. After doing some research I find out that the majority of the major carriers (directv, dish, comcast, timewarner,ect...) don't even offer ESPN deportes.

We have been bombarded with commercials and such pumping up the WBC, and now thet the USA is in a do or die game; you can't even see the game until 12hours after it's been played. Nice job Selig!:angry:

You can watch it on mlb.tv. I think it's $10 for the whole WBC coverage. Let me tell you as a subscriber, mlb.tv rules. You get access to every game that isn't blacked out on Saturday afternoons due to Fox' coverage. The whole season is $79.95, but it's worth every penny.

I understand that, I just think that it's stupid that with all the build up from Selig and ESPN---that the majority of the public can't even see the games unless they drop more money and sit behind their computers!

4-0 U.S. after 1. If this holds, the eight advancing teams will advance into the following pools.

Pool1        Pool2

U.S.        D.R.
Mexico      Venezuela
Korea       Cuba
Japan       Puerto Rico

Every one of those round robin games should be good ones. I love this tournament.
