No. I still have my four number ones being; Duke, Uconn, Villanova, and Memphis. Gonzaga plays in a garbage conference and are a #2 seed. I don't care if they win out, no they are NOT a number one seed. It's Duke, Uconn, Villanova, and Memphis.

I gotta say Memphis is no longer a #1.

My #1 seeds:

Duke

Villanova

Uconn

? (Gonzaga, GW, Memphis, Texas)

Syracuse's NCAA hopes are going down as we speak as DePaul is blowing them out 77-51 with 10:30 remaining.

Yes, this team is not very good, and they really haven't been all year -- for us SU fans it was usually just being the basic optimistic fan for most of the season, and making excuses for them and their resume' (SOS, BE Conference, etc.).

I'm thoroughly disappointed in this teams performance. Lazy and undisciplined are two good words you used to describe them. I can't agree more. Usually, SU in the tourney is the one thing I really get jacked for until the NFL season starts again (usually because the Sabres aren't very good and won't be in the playoffs, but at least that's changed this year). But now, NIT here we come, baby!!! That's so sad to even write. (of course, I hold out the miracle BET win or beating Nova and making a deep BET run, but that's just the fan in me hoping - not reality).

I'm confident things will get better over the next few years with some of these recruits coming in, but until then, this program has to do some serious re-evaluation. It will be two years in a row with no NCAA tourney wins!

I agree Duke, UConn and Nova are pretty much locks. I think the 4th will go to Gonzaga unless they falter in the WCC Tourney they've been on such a roll and it would be impossible to give it to someone else with the record they have and some of the teams they've beaten. Then I would give it to Memphis or Texas but both of those teams lost this week. There is no way OSU gets a #1 seed. I think they're a 3 but they might be given a 2 just because they are in the Big 10.

Yep. They have a habit of storming the court early.

As for Syracuse -- I think that now, unless they have a good showing in MSG, they're out of the tournament. Wonderful end to McNamara's career -- I hate that man because he blew off fans at an NCAA tourney practice here in Denver a few years back. Everyone else signed autographs, talked with fans -- he walked on by, not even acknowledging his fans. I'll add to that that PJ Tucker of Texas gained a fan for life because he talked with us for 15-20 minutes. Sorry about getting off topic.

He scored 43 points in Denver in that NCAA Tourney Game. He hasn't done s*** since hitting those 6 three pointers in the first half of the National Championship game. Devendorf is already to the level of GMAC as a frosh. Definetely, can't wait for PAUL HARRIS next year.

Sorry, I just had to post this picture somewhere.

Ouch!

I want one of those uniforms so bad. They are absolutely gorgeous. I'd rank them right up there with UNC and pre-black Duke as some of the best in recent years.

I LOVE the black Duke jerseys. I have a Jason Williams in black. :D

But the uniforms were so much better when they were just white and blue.

I'd love for UConn to adopt the look above permanently.

And one more thing....I'm saying Syracuse may be able to wedge its way into the NCAAs with a win in the first round of the Big East Tournament (possible opponent: Cincinnati).

But what SU really needs is to beat Villanova. In the past few days we've seen Florida State beat Duke, UAB beat Memphis, Texas A&M beat Texas and Kentucky beat Tennessee.

What's Syracuse doing to stand out in a crowded bubble?

I came across an article in the Philly Daily News today on Villanova getting ready to face the huge crowd on Sunday at the Carrier Dome

Jay Wright will tell his players it's no different, that the baskets sit no higher than they do at any other gym, that the court is the same 94 by 50 feet it is everywhere else.

Which should work, so long as his players are wearing earmuffs and blindfolds.

Of all the wild gyms that No. 4 Villanova has played in this season - from the atmospheric black hole at South Florida to the music-blaring din of Texas to the ref-swearing fans at Cincinnati - nothing will quite match what the Wildcats will face on Sunday afternoon.

At Syracuse's Carrier Dome, where a private conversation between two people can produce a ricocheting echo off the fiberglass roof, more than 33,000 people will fill the seats.

And just to make sure they won't be missed, they'll be wearing orange.

"There's nowhere else you play like Syracuse," Wright said. "We've played in a lot of difficult environments, but there's nowhere to compare to this unless we played in the Hoosier Dome."

Somehow it seems just about the perfect way to end this regular season. The Big East has been a beast all year. From the first game, where Marquette upset Connecticut, through the Big East comeuppance for rookie entrant Louisville, this has been a run of extraordinary basketball. Fittingly it ends in record-breaking fashion.

A year ago, Syracuse set an on-campus basketball record with 33,199 people at the Notre Dame game.

That number goes down at noon on Sunday. The Orange announced the first advance sellout in the Carrier Dome's 26-year history and expect upwards of 34,000, with fans eagerly snapping up what senior associate athletic director Pat Campbell called "Star Wars seats" in the Syracuse Post-Standard.

Duke vs. UNC today. So much god damn hype for this game. Looking forward to seeing ESPN's "Cameron Crazy" cam though. I'd love to see a UNC loss. If they lose and BC can beat Virginia Tech today theyd both be 11-5, and BC having beat UNC I think would get second in the ACC.

I wish the Cameron Crazies camera wasn't on ESPN U, which I don't get. Is the above the rim presentation of it going to be shown completely from that camera above the backboard?

Penn has already secured the first NCAA bid winning the Ivy League Title.

Today will hand out 3 bids

Atlantic Sun: No. 1 Lipscomb vs. No. 2 Belmont, 2 p.m. (ESPN2)

Big South: No. 1 Winthrop vs. No. 2 Coastal Carolina, noon (ESPN2)

Ohio Valley: No.1 Murray State vs. No. 2 Samford, 4 p.m. (ESPN2)

Cincinnati upsets West Virginia and BC squeaks by Virginia Tech. Illinois seems to have a comfortable lead over Michigan State at MSU with 1:28 left. It does look like BC will be a top 10 team though as Tennessee and Pitt both lost so I expect them to be number 10 heading into the ACC tourney.

Murray State and Belmont(first NCAA appearance) received there dance tickets today. Also great finish in the GW game with the basket at the buzzer.

UNC knocked off Duke on Senior Night.

Hell of a game.

If J.J. Redick continues to play the way he has, Duke might not have much of a chance in the tournament.

Posted

How often does Duke loose 2 games in a row. Thought theyd definetely step it up on senior night.

Redick struggled, but in order for Duke to go far in the NCAA tournament, someone else is going to have to step up. McRoberts, Melchionni, Nelson or Dockery are going to have to start taking some of the pressure off Redick and Williams.

Posted

Dukes been killing me this week. 2 losses when I had them winning. Ugh. 5 losses today.

Im 45-15 picking games since last Saturday, about to be 46 if Nevada holds on.

Two Automatic Bids will be handed out today.

Missouri Valley No. 5 Bradley vs. No. 2 Southern Illinois, 2 p.m.

The Missouri Valley should still get 3-4 teams in the tournament in all.

Southern Conference No. 5 Chattanooga vs. No. 3 Davidson, 2 p.m. (ESPN2)
