Syracuse upsets UConn 86-84. UConn had 2 chances at the end but couldn't pull it off. Great finish.

 

P.S. Hey JSinger ... lets see Gonzaga beat a team 1/5th as good as UConn.

Gerry comes up clutch again. I loved the comments on-air by Bilas and Raftery saying how he was "overrated" but being completely sarcastic about it. Great feeling and a great win.

I'd say Syracuse is looking alot better today than 2 days ago. Seton Hall losing last night helped alot. Along with beating UConn today. GW losing doesn't help at all. But if Syracuse wants to make sure they are in for sure they need to get to the Big East finals or even win it so leave no doubt.

me and some friends got out of school and went to watch it at noon. I'd say it was worth it.

I, unfortunately missed the game as I decided to try and stay up all night and paint my beer pong table (a replica of the Nuggets court; I'll share pictures when it's done) and didn't quite make it, falling asleep too late to allow for me wake up and watch the game. Last night as I was painting I got the feeling that 'Cuse was going to win the game. Not too upset with the effort my boys apparently put out, gives them some rest before the tournament, so there's a plus. Congratulations to Syracuse for winning the game and securing their spot in the tournament!

Yeah, This game was huge, not just because we needed it to get into the tourny but also because it was such a huge morale booster for the team. We just knocked off the #1 team in the nation after everyone said we were done and werent gonna make the tourny.

 

This was probably the biggest win since the '03 national championship game. Just an outstanding effort from almost everyone on the team. Cogratulations to the Juniors, they finally showed up and played like they were supposed to.

 

Looks like we decided to show up as a team at the proper time of the year. I can't complain when in our first two postseason games we beat two solid programs, AND have all starters in double figures. Gerry came up huge, TRob was great and Mookie looked good out there today... Devo is a stud in waiting if we can keep his temper under control... I'm seeing some upside to this team at the right time of the year. GMac is making good passes and were not taking as many bad shots as a team anymore. I liked what i saw when we were putting the ball on the floor more and looking to penetrate, it opened up our big men alot, and we need those easy buckets... I might go so far as to say we win this crazy mini-dance we call the BET..

 

Combine todays back to back with yesterday and it makes you wonder if they are starting to get it. It leaves you a little excited about next year now, with 2 All-American's coming in. After the Depaul game I didn't see how they could put it together enough but here we are. There is lots of GMac hating but what about the JB haters. 15-2 in his last 17 games in OT? Wow. I am glad i was wrong, UConn wins 99 out of 100 vs SU (same with last year, they beat us both times in the reg. season and we won in the BET). SU just won when it mattered most to them.

 

When the game is on the line, I'll take GMac 10 times out of 10.

What a great game, I was outta school for gettin my teeth taken out, and afterwords I saw the game in a resturant while my parents were eatin. Then i saw like the final 30 seconds at my house which were exciting. UConn just couldn't hit a shot it seemed, as everything went in-and-out, but I'm glad because I wanted SU to advance, that'd be insane if they won the Big east tourney.

And which team from what other conference will win. Only 2 other conferences other than the Big East have teams that have a great chance to win the title and thats the ACC and Big 10.

Yea big 10 can def. win it. Illinois, Michigan State, Ohio State, have chances, plus call me stupid, but im riding on the LSU dark horse for this. LSU is really underrated.

Every time i get on this thread, I only see stuff about Big east, and ACC, this is called Official College basketball thread, not official ACC, Big East thread. Big 10 team can win it. I even think that an SEC team can make it deep in the tourney.

We've already explained this to you... we talk about them because they're, by far, the two best conferences. The Big East and the ACC will produce 3 of the 4 #1 seeds and the 3 favorites to win the Championship. Plus, the VAST majority of people are from the EAST, where the Big East and ACC are and where the most popular teams play -- UConn, BC, Syracuse, and Duke. People are going to talk about their teams and conferences first and foremost.

 

edit: If we only talk Big East... then what do you call mine and MC Hammer's Gonzaga bashing?
