Latest Bubble Tracker from USA Today:

No way the committee leaves out a top-30 RPI team, assuming they stay in that area. I don't think they've ever done that. I believe 33 is lowest ever left out.

.500 record gets them in, assuming that they win at Depaul, they will end up with a .500 conference record in the toughest conference in the nation.

Congratulations to Redick. I've never been his biggest fan, but he's a tremendous player. I've been watching and he wasn't getting any calls for a while to send him to the line to get it.

I have to say I didn't see Redick putting up the scoring numbers that he's posting this year. Almost 30 PPG is phenomenal, I didn't think he had anything like that in him. I still don't see a diverse, complete player, but when you can score like that, you're big time. First team All American easy, and deserving. But until he comes up big in the NCAA tournament, he's still got something to prove in college.

As far as the NBA goes, I have to laugh at the lottery projections, even though they do exist. I don't really see anyone out there with his package that has made a name for himself in the NBA. If he was 2-3 inches taller, it might make a huge difference. I think he might hang around the league as a journeyman/shooting specialist who, on the right team, could be a double digit scorer. NBA stardom is not in his future IMO.

I've heard comparisons of him to Rip Hamilton, however Rip Hamilton is 6-7, has a nice reach, is a much better athlete, is quicker, has better leaping ability, is a better rebounder and is a better inside player then Redick. Redick can shoot and that is about it.. I don't see the similarities.

He did average 21 PPG last year. While I can't say JJ is a complete player, because his defense needs work, he is a diverse player. People who still think JJ is nothing but a jump shooter are one of three things ... someone who hasn't seen a Duke game this year ... Someone who just hates Duke ... or someone who is a moron. I completely agree that, while his legacy at Duke will be great, it wont be complete if he doesn't win.

I'm willing to bet any amount of money you can put up that he will be a lottery pick. Judge him at the NBA level when he gets there.

I agree that I don't see any of the similarities, but again to say JJ is nothing but a shooter means 1 of 3 things.

I have watched plenty of Duke games and Yes, I do hate Duke, there is no way he becomes a star in the NBA. Redick doesn't have the skills needed to excell at the next level. While I am not an NBA scout I have seen tons of players that were great college players who didn't make the NBA. Also JJ's stats are aided greatly by having many skilled players playing with him. How did Bobby Hurley do in the NBA? How about Tradjen Langdon? Christian Laetner was a far better college player then JJ and while he has managed to have a long career his NBA stats suck. I am sure some team will draft JJ early, there are alot of teams in the NBA that continually draft the wrong type of player for the NBA. No doubt some GM will take him early and waste a pick, unless he was searching for a "shooting specialist."

Shouldn't the same be true for any player coming for any major bball school? How bout all those guys from UNC ... they sure had good players around them.

If you truly believe that then I guess all those great players on UConn aren't gonna make it in the NBA because they only look so good because they have good players around them.

Only REAL reason you have for saying JJ won't make it.

Your backing this up with hatred and not actual things...give the guy credit, he's got his head on right and is a phenominal player, stop hating on him.

Kevin Pitsnogle is my boy. There's a good game on ESPN right now between Pitt and WVU.

Indeed. Not only is it a conference game, but it's a rivalry, it's between 2 top 25 teams, and it's senior night for WVU. This is a big game for both teams.

LETS GO PITT!

One thing, How's JJ's defense?

I don't think JJ will be a phenomenal player, but I think he'll fair better than some of the other guys that have come out from Duke. His shooting ability guarentees he'll be one of the top 8 on an NBA team. It's like somebody on ESPN said. If you're a A+ in any category, you'll get playing time in the NBA. But the general consesus seems to be that he's lacks the size and athleticism to play the two (though, he seems to be underrated, as an athlete), and he doesn't have the passing or ballhandling skills to play the point.

I think he'll have success at the NBA level.

It's much improved just like every part of his game. He's very underrated defensively, but I wouldn't go as far as calling him a shut down guy by any means.

Ahh, ok, wasn't sure. Good defense can go a long way towards success in the NBA, as you guys undoubtedly know.

He should fair alright in the NBA. Probably won't be in any MVP talks, but won't be mentioned in the same sentence as Sam Bowie and Kwame Brown.

I'm curious do you guys talk about anything other then East Cost play?

Yeah, it's usually kept to Big East and ACC play because in addition to most of the board being from the East (I'm originally from Connecticut, explaining my liking of UConn), but they also happen to be the two best conferences... by far.

I agree, but it all depends where he goes. If he can go to a team where he can be a #2 or #3 scoring option, and gets good minutes then he will succeed. If he goes somewhere where he's going to be the #6 man I don't believe he'll have much success.
