A lot of the Lakers fans I know are saying the 8-12 is conservative because of how everyone was duped into thinking he'd be back last year, and it should be more like 4-6.

MCL takes somewhere between 6-10 weeks to be healthy, and then 2-4 weeks to regain full speed, and that's barring no complications or setbacks. It wouldn't surprise me to see him back come playoff time, Bynum won't play like he did earlier this year until next season at the earliest.

Exactly. Even if he does come back, it will take him a while to regain full strength... and that will be in the middle of a playoff run. Not like he can just coast at his own pace to get back into shape. Without Bynum it's the same weak/thin inside Lakers team from last year. The gap between LA and SA just closed a little bit.

Went to my 1st game at the Fedex Forum tonight and saw the Grizzlies and Rockets. Pretty nice place. Somehow Memphis won. The atmosphere is lousy considering there's not many who actually show up, but I got some nice seats at a really good price. I'm hoping to be able to get off work and go to the Celtics game when they play there in about a month.

First game at the actual Fedex Forum. I'd been to the Pyramid before they built the FF. I can't believe it took me this long to actually attend a game at the Forum though. Memphis is just an hour south of me. Straight shot.

Ahhh, okay, just wondering. From pictures I've seen the Fedex Forum looks really nice.

It definitely is. They just have a terrible team. The OJ Mayo/Rudy Gay combo is sick though.

Usually four or five times a year, and I've been to two or three playoff games. I've only gotten down to Denver for a Nuggets game once this year, and that was when they played the Magic, wasn't much fun. Not only did they lose, but the crowd never got into the game. 'Melo was out too.

Would've been that way had the Spurs not let the Lakers steamroll 'em. :D

It should have gone an extra few games. The reffing at the end of the games was horrible...the refs single handedly gave one of the games (game 2 or 3) to the Lakers. In my opinion it should have gone to 7 games with proper (non-retarded) officiating.

 

But as coach Popovich says, the better team always wins the 7 game series. And the Lakers were a better team, despite a 4-1 game victory being ridiculous, false, and extremely misleading.

 

Needless to say, I couldn't be happier that the Celtics beat the Lakers. Had the Lakers won, I would have broken more than a few fingers breaking things...

I remember the Lakers clearly being the better team, winning one of the games by 30 points. The issue was the Spurs couldn't stop Kobe, which they've never been able to do.

 

By the way, as a Spurs fan, you have no business complaining about officiating. Ever.

New Orleans gets 2 guys, Wilcox is underrated and Smith can ball too, who are both expirings as well.

 

Chandler is a top 5 interior defender when healthy, but therein lies the problem. I like it for New Orleans a lot. He's on the books for 13 million in 10-11, so they'll probably dump him right after that because thats when they'll need to give huge raises to Durant, Green, and Westbrook (but more likely two of the 3).

Why would the Kings trade for Sam Cassell?

 

They also got cash considerations. So what I'm getting out of it is that the Celtics essentially paid the Kings to help them open up a roster spot?
