Lose 5 of 6' date=' Don't know or care who the win was vs.[/quote']

They beat the Wizards, which isn't saying much. Last night at one point they had 5 rookies on the court at the same time due to injuries and bad play. + The game was in Miami, the Wizards are 1-29 on the road and the one win was against Cleveland.

There is a poll on Sportsnation that said "Do you enjoy watching the Miami Heat Struggle?" And of the ~7,179 people that answered (as of a few minutes ago), ~78% said yes. That's just slightly lower than the percentage of people that don't want their team to sign Tiki Barber.

Honestly, the last few days I've sat at work and said to myself "I wonder if I can find any good new articles about how bad the Heat are today".

Also, I'd love to see Tiki Barber on The Albama Vipers-- they'll have a real shot at the ArenaBowl this year with him.

Only 80% of fans don't want Tiki Barber on their team? Christ almighty.

I agree with you on that one. The Pats have already shown what they can do with seemingly "no-name" backs, so I don't see a reason for a team to have Tiki Barber play. I'd rather take my chances with Larry Johnson.

Some people are speculating that he wants to play with Ronde and could wind up with Tampa. I'd rather drink a bottle of bleach and receive a hot coffee enema than have him on the Bucs.

Anyway basketball. I think the Lakers win, the Heat look like crap in the first half, look better in the second, but LA ultimately hangs on.

I agree. The Lakers are trending up and the Heat are in a downward spiral. I'd have to go with the Lakers by about 5-7 points, barring an injury of course. If the Lakers can do what they did to the Spurs, then I don't think they'll have trouble with the Heat tonight. But if LeBron/Wade etc start making jumpshots frequently, then we might be in for a nailbiter.

Then proceed to a Miami buzzer beater fail.

Maybe this is a big marketing ploy. America is obsessed with seeing the Heat fail. The Heat's ratings haven't been what they wanted them to be. Wham, easy ratings.

Actually rooting for the Lakers tonight. Weird.

I'm also even more excited for the playoffs than I have been in years past. I think it's going to be a good one.

I actually think the Heat win tonight. I think LeBron and Wade really get it going against the Lakers' sometimes suspect perimeter defense, and win a close one.

RE Carmelo/LeBron in someone's sig ... I don't think that has anything to do with Carmelo being more clutch than LeBron, but rather the skill set they possess. LeBron just isn't a great last shot option, because, in those spots, teams will do everything they can to take away the drive. Very rarely are game winners scored at the rim, and LeBron just isn't prepared to settle for a mid-range jumper in those spots. On the other hand, the mid-range is where Carmelo thrives, and that's what makes him such a great end of game player (to the tune of the best in the league - http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/24200/the-truth-about-kobe-bryant-in-crunch-time). The trade wasn't a perfect one, but the Knicks needed to make it and this is one of the biggest reasons why.

EDIT: It's Flynn's sig ... and Flynn, not trying to call you out on it or anything, just thought it was an interesting discussion point.

There was a video on Sportscenter of a French dude who did a dunk where he jumped over a convertible (the middle of the car, not just the hood) and did a between the legs dunk. It was amazing, now I'm going to search youtube and see if it's there.

Edit: Looks like it's Guy Dupuy from And1, however the particular dunk I was thinking of was taken down due to copyright claims. Damn it Youtube.

I wish I could find it online somewhere' date=' but Charles Barkley's monologue on the Miami Heat to open the pre-game show was awesome.[/quote']

He just had a rampage on LeBron and Wade saying that they need to stop bitching and play, and that their struggles are because nobody knows their role and where they need to be when they have the ball in the 4th quarter. And of course he ripped on the Heat saying that they'd win 5 championships and acting like idiots before the season even started.

Edit: And as I type this, Barkeley drops a "it's about time to give the Spanish some credit, unlike the idiots in Arizona" line. Nice.

That's the part I loved. I don't even dislike the Heat, but I hate when teams celebrate before they've won anything.

Good start so far. Bosh in foul trouble is going to really hurt against the Lakers huge front line. Kobe is red shot, but they'd be smart to pound the post right now, and then play it out to the perimeter when the inevitable double comes.
