Wait, did you mean they would be below .500....

EDIT: Well, yeah, maybe middle of the road was the wrong wording, they would be a below average team. I don't think they'd be last place, but they would be under .500....

So this is what VC was talking about (kids trying to imitate Kobe)...

NEW YORK -- Hey Kobe, top this.

Epiphanny Prince of Murry Bergtraum High School scored 113 points in a game Wednesday, breaking a girls' national prep record previously held by Hall of Famer Cheryl Miller.

Prince, a 5-foot-9 senior guard, led her team to a 137-32 victory over Brandeis High School

After I scored 29 points in the first quarter, I didn't think much of it," Prince told The Associated Press by phone Wednesday night. "After I had 58 points at the half, and especially after having in the 80s after the third quarter, I just decided to go for it.

"It was efficient," she said. "It wasn't like I missed a whole bunch of shots. That's what made it even better."

Prince, one of the nation's top high school players, is headed to Rutgers next season. Her previous high this season was 51 points for the Lady Blazers, ranked No. 2 in the nation by USA Today.

"At the half, we thought she had a chance to break the record so we just let her go," coach Ed Grezinsky said.

Miller scored 105 points for Riverside Poly in California against Riverside Norte Vista in 1982. She went on to become an All-American at USC.

Two-time WNBA MVP Lisa Leslie scored 101 points in a half for Morningside High School in Inglewood, Calif., against South Torrance in 1990. South Torrance refused to play the second half.

"It's an amazing thing when an individual does that," NBA star LeBron James said when told about Prince's performance. "I don't know who she is, but maybe we'll see her in the WNBA. For that matter, the NBA."

The boys' high school record is 135 points set by Danny Heater of Burnsville High School in West Virginia in 1960, according to the National High School Sports Record Book on the National Federation of State High School Associations' Web site.

Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant scored 81 points against the Toronto Raptors on Jan. 22, the second-highest total in NBA history. The league record is 100 points by Wilt Chamberlain on March 2, 1962.

SO you think Kobe has only helped them win THREE more games?

Well they ARE 24-21...LOL.

No, they would suck horribly without him, but what do you call what they are doing right now...playing well?

lol well according to their record, they're playing slightly above average. Without Kobe, they would be at best second worst record in the NBA.

Big trade! NY-Toronto

Antonio Davis for Jalen Rose, and these two teams will play tonight in Toronto. Thank God for the NBA League Pass.

AND Toronto gave up a first round pick. What a dumb move by them.

That trade is still a little unclear to me. I have heard 3 different reports. 1. The pick is lottery protected. 2. The pick is NOT lottery protected. 3. Its a different teams pick not the Raptors. Can someone clear this up?

Joke. Youve never heard joke until you've seen Doc Rivers coach. Why the f*** does he continue to send in Scalabrine, I dont f***ing get it. Aside from him getting minutes down the stretch it was a great game. I was screaming my throat out like a mother f***er when we came back from down 13 to get within 2 with a few mins left. Then Cassell went crazy mother f***er on us and drained like 3 threes in the last 2 mins and they opened up the biggest lead ever so f***ing fast. Oh well. I got to see Gerald Greens first game, only good thing I guess I can take from it. Oh yeah and I'd like to say that Elton Brand is the biggest beast ever. The guy has probably the most underrated jump shot in the NBA.

Scalabrine must fit Ainge's brain typing.

Whew, thank God Ricky Davis was traded. He would've raped the Clippers again.

Heh, Wally raped you guys, kinda. 18/8/10. He played a great game. As did Perk. None of our shots were falling though. Pierce or West couldnt buy a bucket in the first half. Not to mention Scalabrine played a lot in the 2nd half.

It's not Toronto's pick, in fact I think it's Denver's.

That was a hell of a block by KG. But it did look like a goaltending to me.

That was the same play when Amare blocked Brad Miller's shot last year.

Not exactly the same. Amare was like on top of the ball. KG just got the side really hard. Hard way to lose. The place went crazy after the replay and D'Antoni blew a gasket (if you didn't see). But in his press conference D'Antoni said we need to learn how to close out games and we didn't. :( It's ok we'll get them when we play them here again on March 11th when I go. :D

pistons beating the eastern conference lineup.HA!i dont know why the pistons are the talk of basketball, the 2 best teams period are in the western conference the mavs and the spurs
Posted
I agree with the spurs, but you have to give credit to the pistons, for having that type of record. Besides losing 2 straight, they are still damn good.I don't know when I think about it, I think the Pistons could possibly beat the East Cof. starting line up. It would be close, but I think they could do it

Then I guess the Hawks could too then. Dude just stop with this Pistons are better than the East all stars garbage because if they actually were, the East starting five would be the Pistons lineup.

you know whats funny about that though, so many people actually thought the pistons startin 5 should be the actual East Conf. startin 5, minus ben wallace over shaq, but other then that... that's a built team. But as usual the East isn't as strong as the west, and Spurs are gonna get a second in a row. Manu and Duncan are an amazing team.
