you know whats funny about that though, so many people actually thought the pistons startin 5 should be the actual East Conf. startin 5, minus ben wallace over shaq, but other then that... that's a built team. But as usual the East isn't as strong as the west, and Spurs are gonna get a second in a row. Manu and Duncan are an amazing team.

Nothings a lock dude. There are a few teams that could beat the Spurs, although I agree that they are one of the teams to beat in the playoffs.

But I was saying that the Pistons couldn't beat the East starting 5, but thats not me saying that they can't win the title. They have a really good chance to win it too.

And my Suns can be a darkhorse without Amare and will be the bandwagoners favorite outside of Detroit and San Antonio if we get Amare healthy and back for the stretch run and the playoffs.

dont forget about the mavs

Them too. They are really hot right now. I checked a few days ago and they were on a 10 game winning streak. I definately see them as a very tough team, they gave us a helluva Opening Night double overtime thriller. I definately could see Us and the Mavs locking up in another epic series this playoffs too.

id like to see the mavs take it all this year , they have had great seasons for the last 5 years, but cannot seem to perform in the playoffs, so hopefully they will come tru this year

i dont know if its just me but theres not too many good teams in the NBA this year, the only good teams i see in the east is the pistons, heat and the cavaliers, and the west the spurs, mavs, suns and the clippers. Everybody else is fighting to stay above 500. wich is gonna lead to a crappy first round of playoffs

Ugh... 'Melo gets left off of the All-Star team again.

This time in favor of... Pau Gasol? Please, I'd take Camby's numbers over Pau's.

'Melo is averaging 26 PPG!!!

mavs win again lastnight big time, 112-76 over shaq and the heat . Wow did they ever look good in that game. 13 in a row now ,and all of those win held their opponants under 100 points. The mavs are for real ,the difference betwwen this year and last year is that this year they a great defense ,wich will make a big difference at the end.I woulnd be surprise if they take it all this year

I would be surprised, I still got the Spurs all te way. They have a great record too, I think they're 38-10, correct me if im wrong. And dallas has what 39-10 record? So Spurs are only 1/2 game back, so that ain't to horrible

I would be floored, especially with their past history of having great regular seasons and having sub-par (to put it nicely) post-seasons. The Heat are NOT what people make them out to be, we blew them out both times without our best offensive player. Their old and slow, which makes them vulnerable to the fast and young teams like Phoenix and Dallas. So that's a nice win, in the sense of the margin and the name of the team they beat but in fact the Heat are just bullyiing the East and with not a super great team, IMO only champ that could come from the East is the Pistons.

Since the Mavs have been brought up recently...I decided to see how theyve won 13 straight...and looked at their schedule...

And heres what I found:

New Jersey 26-21

Milwaukee 25-23

Houston 19-30

Clippers 29-18 IMO best team they've played during this stretch

Portland 17-30

Golden State 22-26

Seattle 19-30

Utah 24-25

Chicago 21-28

Memphis 26-22

Seattle (again) 19-30

Lakers 25-24

Miami 30-20

Totals: 302-327 .480% Winning percentage

These are teams they SHOULD beat, with maybe an exception to the Clippers (Miami is overrated). Now I agree they are a good team, but not front runners for the championship.

They have been playing very solid defense in that stretch though. I believe they are allowing under 90 a game to those teams (check me on that one, not sure of the exact number, but they had some sort of graphic on ESPN News that I caught a brief glance at), some of which are really good offensively. NJ, Milwaukee, Clippers, Warriors, Seattle, Memphis, Lakers and Miami are all very good on the offensive end, and if they have been holding teams under 90 with consistency, thats pretty damn good. One stat I do know for a fact is that they havent allowed more that 100 points in this stretch, more than 90 only 5 times, so they have definitely been playing GREAT defense. I agree that they arent front runners, but you gotta at least look at them. Playing great defense and with all the offensive power they have. I believe they beat Miami by 36 last night. Hard to do vs ANYONE, let alone a team with as much fire power as Miami. Also you need to look at the scores of all these games. In this stretch, they have had at 8 blowouts (by 10+ points), so they have been beating up one basically everyone with the exception of Chicago, Portland and Memphis.

Team Record PPG Rank VS. Dallas

New Jersey 26-21 94.95 21st 77 Good defense on a crappy offensive team

Milwaukee 25-23 96.06 17th 95 Hit their average

Houston 19-30 89.53 29th 76 Good defense on a horrible offensive team

Clippers 29-18 97.72 14th 81 Real good

Portland 17-30 89.02 30th 89 I won't go here

Golden State 22-26 100.20 4th 93 Nice

Seattle 19-30 102.12 2nd 97 Good

Utah 24-25 90.04 28th 89 Hit their average

Chicago 21-28 96.98 16th 94 Hit their average

Memphis 26-22 90.06 27th 80 Good defense

Seattle 19-30 102.12 2nd 91 BEST defensive performance IMO

Lakers 25-24 98.12 13th 87 Not bad

Miami 30-20 99.80 9th 76 23 point drop but its the Heat=Overrated

Yeah they played good defense against mostly garbage offensive teams. Golden State, Seattle, Miami only teams capable of hitting 100 a night easily. But w/e, I hate em so I can be pessimistic...LOL

Haha, I can tell you hate them... New Jersey is one of the more underrated offensive teams. Kidd isnt a great shooter but he can get the job done from time to time. Then you have Carter Jefferson and Krstic, who for a guy his size has pretty good jumpshot and range. Milwaukee is real good offensively too. Besides Redd, Williams, Simmons, Ford, Magloire, and Bogut are all solid options to go to on offense. Chicago has some REALLY good shooters too.

well they are playing the same crappy team that the spurs are playing ,and you have to remember the NBA sucks this year ,theres only 7 good teams total. And i said earlier dallas is a different team this year ,they have a WAY BETTER DEFENSE,wich is why i think they might take it all

Celts RAPED the Blazers tonight. By 32. Denver is playing Dallas. Should be a good game there.

Yeah right. The Nuggets suck.

There only hope is that 'Melo feels slighted and wants to show everyone that he should be in the All-Star Game, which has been the case in the past.

edit: Holy crap, Nuggets by 9.

Posted
Yeah, Melo Got snubbed. Nuggets should be up by at least 20 now, but I'll take an 11 point lead.

I haven't been watching. I've been watching the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics.

Wait a minute... 61 in the first half?

Hopefully it's not like the other day where they played 3 of their best quarters all year with their worst quarter of the year in between and lost the game.

Speaking of the olympics, Italy's time zone sucks, all the hockey games start at like 8 in the morning, as well as all the other events.

And I'm pretty certain hockey's the only live event. Oh well, I'll probably watch hockey just to stick it to the man... no commercials!

'Melo is wearing something of a shiny headband. It's not the usual material, but one that looks to have a little bit of a shine, for lack of a better term, to from some angles. Never seen that before.
