We need significant pitching improvements, and if Manny does leave, I have no clue. But if he doesn't, just get a few good utility players, and maybe a new CF if Johnny leaves, preferrably Torii Hunter.

i'm changing my mind bout manny...TRADE HIM!....get some great pitching and a above average hitter(jeo seo wang, heilman,cameron) and sign ALFONSO SORIANO AND AUBERY HUFF AS OUR 4 AND 5 HITTERS...sign either matt morris or jarrod washburn.....sign some quality bullpen guys(al reyes, kyle farnsworth, julian taverez) and some good backups(matt lecroy, jeff conine, lenny harris) thats a good team for next year

you want aj burnett,billy wanger, and bj ryan? do you actually think we're going to spend at least 10 million dollars for a freakin' set up man and even if by some wild chance we would do you think BILLY WAGNER...thats right BILLY WAGNER would want to be a set up man? hell no!BJ RYAN!!! same with him...he's at least 5 million a year for freakin' middle relief! way too much... and aj burnett! i'm so freakin tired of hearing his name...he not that good of a pitcher, he's never won more than 12 games and in 7 seasons he's a 3 average ones winning 11,12 and 12 games....what a dumbo...your bullpen is full of high priced egotisical players...it wouldn't work out

Papelbon has to be a starter next year, has to. He is too great to keep in the pen. Although it is awesome to have someone like that in the pen I think he will help out the team more as a starter. I still hope they can get another starter and a couple more solid guys in the pen. I've had a problem with this pitching staff the entire year and so I'd be more than happy if they blew most of it up and started from scratch.

Paps will be getting the nod next year because he's the future (along with Lester in 2007). Beyond that, I believe Burnett will be here; JH has probably already "reached out" to AJ's people to set the wheels in motion. I see this happening quickly. Wells I don't see back, probably due to retirement.

I think we have a lot of exciting prospects. With a mix of young talent and expierence veterans we will and should be a contending championship team. We have a lot of young pitching talent that should help out the bullpen and starting rotation. Theo will bring in some top FA's who will further strenghen the team. Just a few more veteran pitchers and the Red Sox will be fine. I also think Edgar will be a lot better offensively and defensively.

First thing I have to say is about Theo, His Contract expires in 23 DAYS!!! If he is not resigned by then forget about him and you all know who needs a GM Cashman sux!!

 

Well if we do resign him, I think that we are not gonna pursue just free agents. Manny will probably be traded and as for a replacemnt why not Matsui? Hes a free agent. Manny will go to the Mets hopefully for a guy like Wright who I would just love to see here. I also think were gonna make a blockbust trade for a guy like Shmidt who was good or Carlos Silva 3.44 era. They also might probably go after offence such as blaylock or Delgado who the Marlins wanna get rid of. Also guys they coulg go for romero, the other good releiver on the twins, (not nathan) Sexon, Milton Bradley, Odais Perez (dodgers) and Brandon Webb. I just dont see any of the big name free agents in Boston next year i see them making more trades. Guys that they could trade could be Pedroia(totally overrated, Edgar Moves to second for Hanley) Lester, Moss, Annibal Sanchez, Their #1 draft pick of 05 and David Murphy.
