  2. Baltimore Orioles shortstop Miguel Tejada said Thursday he's unhappy with the team's direction and wants to be traded. "I've been with the Orioles for two years and things haven't gone in the direction that we were expecting, so I think the best thing will be a change of scenery," Tejada told The Associated Press during a telephone interview in his native Dominican Republic. Tejada made his comments before a number of published reports stated that Baltimore has reached a preliminary agreement on a four-year, $27.5 million contract with free agent catcher Ramon Hernandez, who would have to complete a physical before making it official. Tejada signed a $72 million, six-year contract with the Orioles before the 2004 season. He hit .304 with 26 home runs and 98 RBIs this year, but Baltimore finished 21 games behind the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox in the AL East. "I've done many things with this team and I haven't seen results, and the other teams are getting stronger while the Orioles have not made any signings to strengthen the club," Tejada said. The Orioles say they are still looking for help at both first base and in the outfield, and that they'd also like to add depth to the starting rotation and bullpen. Thus far, the team's decision-makers have withstood the temptation to trade some of their young pitching, which was very much in demand at the Winter Meetings. "Anytime you're trying to trade a player, you really have to take into consideration a lot of factors. And one of them is the marketplace," said Jim Duquette, Baltimore's vice president of baseball operations. "If it wasn't clear earlier, it became clear in the last two weeks that the cost of replacing a quality pitcher is so high that it would be very difficult for us to trade a pitcher of ours. It would have to be a unique situation." There is some speculation that, with the addition of Hernandez, the Orioles will try to deal catcher Javy Lopez for pitching help. Tejada came to Baltimore after playing seven years with the Oakland Athletics. This story was not subject to the approval of Major League Baseball or its clubs. this might meen the sox will be interested and maybe give up marte to get him since they need a ss
  3. why dont you see damon coming back? i am almost certain he will. But anyway, none of those options are any good except maybe giles. Pierre wouldnt do anything because gay ass terry never steals. theres also beltran if we ever did pull manny trade and i would love to see him in center he just had a bad season. damon will be back though so i dont really know why im even repling.
  4. First thing I have to say is about Theo, His Contract expires in 23 DAYS!!! If he is not resigned by then forget about him and you all know who needs a GM Cashman sux!! Well if we do resign him, I think that we are not gonna pursue just free agents. Manny will probably be traded and as for a replacemnt why not Matsui? Hes a free agent. Manny will go to the Mets hopefully for a guy like Wright who I would just love to see here. I also think were gonna make a blockbust trade for a guy like Shmidt who was good or Carlos Silva 3.44 era. They also might probably go after offence such as blaylock or Delgado who the Marlins wanna get rid of. Also guys they coulg go for romero, the other good releiver on the twins, (not nathan) Sexon, Milton Bradley, Odais Perez (dodgers) and Brandon Webb. I just dont see any of the big name free agents in Boston next year i see them making more trades. Guys that they could trade could be Pedroia(totally overrated, Edgar Moves to second for Hanley) Lester, Moss, Annibal Sanchez, Their #1 draft pick of 05 and David Murphy.
  5. WOW! You really have some problems, you are not a true member of Red Sox nation. Those guys went out and played their hardest every day this season and you say that. We battled a ton of injuries and because of that, thats probably why we lost. They werent swept at home they had two play two game in Chicago in that huge loud stadium. This was a great season with Ortiz and Manny and every other Red Sox player.
  6. I think the outfield will be compltely different next year. Nixon is a free agent, Damon wants too much money, and Manny is going to the mets. I think we sign matsui, sign huff and put him in right. For center we put that lastings milliage person we get for the mets for manny, and if hes not ready sign encarnation. For infield put mueller at third, edgar at short. For second i think we get rid of pedroia and put tony g there until hanleys ready to come up when we put rentaria at second. Sign konerko for first with youk backing up. Tek will catch. For the rotaion i say we have schilling, clement, wells, wakefield, thraschel, burnett. we dont need any bullpen help except sign timlin and myers.
  7. Millar only does good when im there. Every single red sox game i have been to since 03 millar has homered. and ive been to 7 games. i was at his 3 hr game, his walk off, his other 2hr game this season and last night. its wicked weird
  8. how many of you think hes back on the roids?
  9. Manny hasnt impressed me at all not just by his hitting, but by his attitude. It pisses me off how he stands there after every hit and admires how well he did his job, its rediculous and with that attitude i have grown to not like him as much. He is a lazy lazy ballplayer. This year the power numbers are there but not the average. It seems as though hes batting 320 so im not two worried about that.
  10. That trade would suck, Mueller is probably our clutchest hitter and Romero is on steroids. The Bullpen will get better, and if it doesnt just trade Millar for help. Also, why cant Youk play second, i remember he said he was willing to, so he should.
