Thanks to the team for a great year and a great ride. I appreciate it very much. This team has been special. They made me and my father very happy last year. I feel a lot more comfortable now saying "Wait til next year?" Talk to y'all later.

Yeah, if anything I'm not ashamed to go out against the best team in the AL. Just the sweep part bothered me. Also I really wanted Berman and the otehr guy to f*** themselves if the Sox tied it back up. "I think the fat lady's singin Chicago is my kinda town" f***in *******. But anywho, congrats to the White Sox, hopefully Papi will win the MVP award, we got a bright future in Papy, Ramirez, and Lester.

Yeah, it was a great season. I really wanted a repeat, but that rarely happens. I'm giving them a few year grace period before I get pissed about them not winning. Looks like theres going to be quite a few interesting moves this offseason... different team will be out there next year.

Disappointing very disappointing. It was fun to watch but I really wouldn't call it a great year. We really knew all along this team was not built to win in the postseason.

Exciting, we cant win every year, the off-season should be intresting

definitely will be: this is the list of members of the Sox who will be free agents or have club options for 2006

Manny (still has 3 seasons left but is starting the "i want a trade" bit)

Damon

Timlin

Arroyo (2006 club option)

Millar (thanks for the memories)

Olerud

Wells (big chance could retire)

Foulke

Mueller

Tony G (i for one want him resigned)

Cora

Myers

Bradford

Gonzalez ( I'd opt for Lenny DiNardo to be the Long Man in 2006 season)

we lost to the better team and I have no problem rooting for the White Sox. Great pitching, production from everyone, tremendous managing. They're easy to like

Congratulations to the Boston Red Sox and their fans on a very good season. You guys played Grade A ball most of the season. Despite the injuries and other roadblocks you guys had no problem maintaining a 1st place lead most of the year. Good Luck next year (not too much).

element1151]Now we will just be rooting for the Yanks to lose the rest of the way.

come on guys, take a page out of the book of SFoC and pull for our classy guys who could be leaving next year to go out with a bang in a World Series that could possibly be very interesting. Especially if its Houston. ;)

How can all you people be so accepting of this year's team? They were huge underachievers who should have wrapped up the AL east two weeks before the season ended. Had they set their rotation they could have had a far better shot at beating the White Sox.

They were swept at home for Christ sake and all of you people are acting like they gave us a great year. They have one of the largest payrolls in all of baseball and they went out like a sheep in first round.

and the yankees are one game away from being eliminated, and they have what? thats right the biggest payroll in mlb history. dude just step off, why are you still complaing "oh they didnt win the east" blah blah, in the end the better team had won, so accept that.

hey 95 wins from having an injured foulke and schilling is quite remarkable to me, and we all know and have faith 2006 will be the year to turn things around.

Why dwell on the past? You're calling the Red Sox underacheivers? yeah i smell a fair-weather fan, dude they gave it their all, I could see it in their faces. They're still my boys

WOW! You really have some problems, you are not a true member of Red Sox nation. Those guys went out and played their hardest every day this season and you say that. We battled a ton of injuries and because of that, thats probably why we lost. They werent swept at home they had two play two game in Chicago in that huge loud stadium. This was a great season with Ortiz and Manny and every other Red Sox player.

Am I the only one who pictures Irish Jay sitting in his boxer shorts in a one room apartment with his pc on a tray table, verbally tearing Oprah a new ******* on his black and white TV with tinfoil on the antenna while a can of beans simmers on the hotplate ???

Maybe it's just me.

I have but one beef with this year and I hope the ending shows once and for all that the head to head games versus the Yankees (or whoever else is probably going to be there in the end) are taken a wee bit more seriously.

Every year before August we hear this from Boston management.

"We'll play the Yankees like it's any other game." and "There's two months of the season to go, I'm not going to set my rotation for a Yankees series in July". Stuff like that.

I remember for a fact that the Yankees lined up there rotation in a series in May/June after their poor start.

I know whoever plays is giving their all, but Management should take these games as more important than your "average" game.

I would like to add my thanks to the Sox here.

I someone told me before the season started that Shilling would hardly play the first half, and when he came back he'd be ineffective for a month one he came back. And then told me that Foulke would be ineffective the first two months due to injury, and he would miss the remainder of the season because of that injury. I would have said they would finish with about 85 wins. They did better than that, and I truly appreciate the effort as a fan.

Is it February yet?

Did anyone see Embree applauding in the dugout at the final out of the Sox game on the big screen? I can understand him being bitter about the way things ended in Boston but openly showing his pleasure of the RS losing was a little low class.

anyone find it ironic the last play millar made as a Red Sox was an error?

other than that, I hope to see John Olerud back if he doesnt retire, to have him on board as a defensive backup and good pinch hitter is valuable to say the least

When did Millar make an error?

Dissapoiting to be knocked out in the first round but other than that it was a good year. We had a good team this year and we saw alot of good things. We are proboblay going to see some new faces next year. And see some of our guys depart. Hopefully we can bring in some good players who will get us back to the Big Show next October. All in all though it was a good season and I can't wait till next April.

Ironic is Millar making a ridiculously good catch in his last play. You see, irony is when what is expected to happen and what actually does happen are totally different. For example, it is ironic that Randy Johnson was hired because he pitches great in October, and didn't. Sorry, I don't even care about the irony thing. I saw Stephen Lynch the other day in the city and he said that a few times, I found it funny.

Oh yeah, and on this topic. I think you guys are accepting with this way too quickly. I would be pissed if my season went out with a whimper like that. Dissapointing is loser talk. Where's the s*** like "KILL THE UMPIRE!" Some entertaining stuff.

Posted

in some ways we were accepting this, the way our pitching staff has been on/off this season.

yes it does suck big time, but hey what can we do, our guys played their hearts out to the last out. 2004 had changed a lot of things for us, able to go on smoothly compared to what happened in prior playoffs.
