Right when the Guardians beat up the Mariners badly in 2001 (the Mariners that had a record number of wins), the Guardians still lost the series and their bats went cold...

 

And Game 3 2003 ALCS, the Red Sox got walloped 17-8. Only to then go on a 7 game winning streak...
