Santana should win it, Rivera should be up there too. And Colon is not that good of a pitcher.

agreed, he has had one of the most overrated year for a pitcher. Just because you win 20 games it doesnt make you the automatic winner of the Cy Young. If you put Colon on the Twins and Santana on the Angels there would be no question. Santana would have won around 24 games. Colon on the other hand would be around 14 or 15.

I voted other...Mariano Rivera. I think he's the only one who's been legitmately and consistently good this season...with the exception of week one.

I'll agree Rivera should get consideration, in fact I'd run him a close second to Colon.

21-8 / 3.48 for a team that had nowhere near the offensive production as previous angel teams. Vlad was the only player with more than 17 HR so its not like he was able to rely on that offense to win him games.

Santana or Rivera, I don't think colon had cy young numbers. I just wasn't impressed with anything he did. He had a good season yeah, but I wouldn't call it great. Santana led the ML in strike outs and had something like a 1.60 era in the second half, come on, he is leaps and bounds more impressive, who cares about win total, 15 wins is good and on a third place team? 15 is nice. I'm sorry, I'm just not willing to conceed a cy young to a guy with a 3.50 ERA and 150 K's. Especially when Rivera and Santana were flat out better then he was.

uh, did u even see who won last year's nl cy-young? RJ was flat out more dominant and impressive and still lost to Clemens who had more wins...I'm not saying its right or wrong, but there clearly is precidence over how cy-young is decided.

Agreed

i think Colon will win it, but I think Mo should win it. He has been consistant pretty much all year (with the exception of a few blown saves and losses, but even Cy Young didnt win all the time. Santana has a great second haf, Colon was very good most of the year, but I dont think he was as dominant in his role as Rivera, Garland and Buehrle got off to great starts, but both struggled at a point in the season.

So like I said, my vote goes to Mo, but the winner will be Colon.

Just because Roger won doesnt mean it was right. Even I, a huge Clemens fab, could tell you that Randy deserved it more.

Mariano is way more vauable to the Yanks then Colon to the Angels, however this isn't the MVP award, so I say Colon.

Yeah, but Rivera has been better than Colon this year. The Cy Young is supposed to go to the best pitcher. That was Santana, but Rivera > Colon.

if colon had not won 20 games, then i'd say there was a better chance rivera would win it, but for whatever reason 20 wins = almost instant consideration for cy young. i agree that rivera has had a good year, but if i had to put $$ on it, i'd still say colon wins it.

the last closer to win it i think was gagne, but that year he had an awesome year. its like for them to consider giving the award to anyone other than a SP, that reliever has to have better than just a good/great year...he needs tro have an outstanding year. sorry rivera.
