Contain Vlad and its a sweep for the Yankees.

Score a lot of runs and it's a sweep for the Angels.

See? I can do that too.

Saying it is one thing... doing it is another.

wow I was not aware of this, interesting. I though he would go with Chacon. Maybe he wants to save Chacon in case he needs him to relieve Moose in game 1 and then have him come back on 3 days rest for game 4. Who knows.

It looks like it will be Chacon in game 2 insted of Wang. Chacon has an ERA on the road of: 3.05 ERA

I was watching ESPN and Alex Rodriguez had called out his former team the Texas Rangers because they had rested their starters, which to him had greatly helped the Angels win.

um Arod, haha stop being cocky and realize that, didnt the yankees have a spring training lineup from the 4th inning on? And besides the fact they had opted to go for the inconsistent Jaret Wright over Mussina who couldve put much more of a performance.

Its amazing how much you guys hate A-Rod. Torre said the same thing. Thats not being cocky at all. He is telling the truth. What Showalter did was wrong. Can you imagine how many people would be upset if the DREADED Yankees did that? The fact of the matter is Showalter was trying to stick it to the Yankees and he did. That said the Yankees should move on and focus on the Angels. All they had to do was win one game from the Royals or from the D-Rays and the game would be in YS. Resting Mussina was the right thing to do. Once we clinched there was no reason to waste his arm.

Score a lot of runs isn't really a strategy, dumbass. Key on stopping Vlad, and we win.

...the Yankees did do that. Mussina didn't start, did he?

I think Small is going to the pen. I think the yanks are going to go with a 4 man rotation in the playoffs. Small will be the backup for moose if moose can only go 5-6 innings.

I think you are right that Showalter did it to piss off the Yankees. Is that wrong?? Almost the entire league wants the Yankees to disappear. So in the end its not really Showalters fault....its the Yankees fault for being such bitches all these years. Torre said if the Yanks had a chance to knock out the Red Sox on Sunday he would have pitched Rivera two innings to get rid of them. Is that any different?? Showalter wants to knock out the Yankees or make life difficult for them. A-Rod is just a bitch as is Torre for acknowledging the circumstances.....tough....you want the World Series handed to you?? Why not overcome all obstacles teams place in front of you.....nah they would rather call teams out instad cause things should be easy for them....after all they are the Yankees right??

putting jaret wright in a game that wouldve clinched home field advantage is a dumb ass move and sox bats proved it as he just lasted lil over 3 innings with 80 pitches. mussina wouldve given more of a fight im betting. dude from the 4th inning on, the yankees conceited and threw out every backup player there was from the bench, which is what the Rangers did that exact same inning. I was at that game, and all of us just sat back in our seats because we knew that no signs of a comeback would ever come.

So what you want the Yankees to do is send Mussina out there with elbow tendonitis when we have already finished off the divison. Also when you do that NOW you have to start 2 pitchers that have NEVER pitched in the post season on the road. Yeah great Idea. The Yankees sent every bench player out there from the 5th inning on because they were losing 7-0 with Schilling on the mound. I doubt we were winning that game. Also the Yankees have played about 25 games in a row. Get rest and get ready for the Angels. What were the Rangers getting rested for? Golf next week? Anyway....If your truly a great team you should be able to win anywhere just look at the Red Sox from last year.

Just because the entire league hates the Yankees it doesnt mean that its right. All of you know damn well that there would be a 20 page discussion on this of the Rangers did this to your team. He said he would pitch Rivera because he owes it to the Guardians just like the White Sox owed it to both the Yankees and Red Sox. Like I said before if your a great team you should take care of business anyway.

Resting players for the playoffs is one thing, taking them out for no reason in the 4th inning is another. Showalter was an idiot for doing that. Bush league, but hey what can you do? Just another thing to say we overcame to win the World Series. We had to go on the road at some point anyway.

Starting Mussina in Game 162 makes NO SENSE, and anyone who says otherwise is just being brainless. We clinched the spot, and he's the guy we want for Game 1 of the ALDS. Why the hell would we use him up in a game where there is little to gain.

Why not overcome all obstacles teams place in front of you...

Ok I know we only have won the east, and now into the playoffs everyone starts clean. But how can you say that this Yankee team hasn't overcome obstacles?! Seriously some members on this board said we wouldn't even make the playoffs, let alone win the east. Not trying to be a bitch but lets give credit where its due. You can call the team a bunch of overpaid bitches, but don't say that they can't overcome obstacles.

All they asked for was a little courtesy. Just like Dusty Baker (sp) did with his team, its IMO for the integrity of the game. He played the regulars. Buck could have done the same ( and let them play more than 3 innings or whatever it was), its not like they had to be rested for the playoffs.

Like Wifey said, you need to give credit where it's due. Let's face it, as far as obstacles, the Yankees have overcome them. They have battled back from practically the dead. They worked their asses off to get to where they are now and it shows. What Showalter did was a douchebag move. Probably to spite Alex. lol.

As far as Joe, I would have taken my players out early too. s*** we were already beating them like 6-0, f*** it might as well take out his starters and rest them for the post season. We didn't have that option because we had to win so we didn't force that monday game with Cleveland, and loosing our day off along with possibly our Wild Card spot.

What I don't get is why you guys are complaining when all you had to was win your game and you guys got routed by the Sox. IF you actually win the game none of this happens. Stop being whiners. IF you had won you would have had a case but you didn't.

I agree that the Yankees should have taken care of business by themselves. BUT its obvious what Buck did was wrong. There is no if ands or buts about it.

To a large extent I agree with almost everything said. Last I checked, Showalter is no longer on the yankee payroll, therefore he doesn't owe anything to NY. His team was already eliminated and as manager, its his discretion how he wants to handle his lineup. Furthermore, unless there is concrete evidence his moves were made to directly affect the outcome of the playoff position of certain teams, it is highly irresponsible and bush-league to call out his integrity...something A-Rod is familiar with.

But I digress...How many opportunities did NY waste against the bottomfeeders of the AL (KC, Tampa, etc.)? Likewise, Boston should have had this division wrapped up weeks ago but continued to let NY creep back in with inconsistent pitching despite the incredible offensive output. As much as I personally cannot stand either Torre or Rodriguez, you have to respect them and the team for turning around a season where they were going nowhere fast. Unlike the sox they got hot at the right time and put together great hitting with some consistent pitching (our achilles heel).

As far as the whining, A-Rod should just stfu and concentrate on playing who's in front of you. For such and great player with HOF talent he manages to whine like a little bitch and sometimes shows the mental toughness of a wet noodle. He's earned all his individual awards (MVP's) but I think its funny how all his former teams managed to do just fine offensively without him. :harhar:
