I don't think Hermanson is their closer anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Jenks got the job.

Best Pitcher: Wells, Bradford, Myers, Timlin...Relievers threw strikes all night. As did Wells after the First.

Best Defense: Everyone was solid defensively, manny made a nice play, as did trot and billy mueller.

Best Baserunning: Johnny.... stole 2 bases

Best Offense: Tek broke out of his slump and Papi continued his MVP campaign

Pretty good defense tonight, I was disapointed with some of the base running blunders. we'll get that fixed for sat, I hope we can keep this up

Sigh. It was a bad game. Posada did s*** with bases loaded, and with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Sierra is just terrible...... We need tomorrow's game. If we lose tomorrow, i'm going to be extremely scared going into sunday's game a game down and with moose on the mound not knowing what we're going to get with him.

22 pages...WOW

you guys practically did play-by-play on here.

Anyways, even though he gave up 5 runs, I thought Wang had good stuff tonight. Proctor was OUTSTANDING, the offense was completely shut down by Wells, defense wasnt good, add those all up and you get a Yankee loss and a Boston win. We still got 2 more to play.

quick question here: if you were a cleveland fan who would you want to win this series...I would want the sox to sweep now already knowing that they won the first game of the series.

well im back from the bar watching the game, what a win this was, just need at least 1 win now to at least assure ourselves a tiebreaker game in Yankee Stadium. before the game, all yankee fans were telling us theyd have the better pitching, i just knew the pressures of this game wouldve come down on wang and it did later on in the game. he was tagged in 6.2 innings with 5 Runs (4 ER) on 4 hits, 6 walks!! (not good stuff) and 4 ks--Wells proved to be the big gamer he was :)--Bradford, Myers, and Timlin what else can you say but stabilized the yankee bats--and by god was it great to see our captain go yard

Wake has been really strong for us. I think he will come through. Then to be honest I just don't trust Shilling. I think there will be a 3 way tie. What happens then?

Haven't really read what the Yankee fans have said in this thread, but on the Yankee board the majority of their fans are blaming this loss on the umps. Now I thought the ump tonight was inconsistent, but they make it sound like that he called all strikes for Wells and all balls for Wang clearly not true, but that there were 2 different strike zones for the pitchers. Your thoughts?

i think some calls were questionable, but i cant complain about the umps as he was consistant. We lost this game because Wang didnt have great control, our defense wasnt good on that bad infield, Boomer and the pen shut us down, and we stranded too many runners...simple. Tomorrows another day.
