You could say that Red Sox hurler David Wells has no hard feelings toward the New York Yankees and their fans, but you would be wrong.

The former prince of the Evil Empire tells Penthouse maggie that he's had it with the Bronx cheers he gets at Yankee Stadium now that he plays for Boston.

''I've lost all respect for New York fans,'' Boomer says. ''New York is my city. I love it. But to get the `(Bleep) you, mother-(bleeper)' from the fans? I've washed my hands of them. Of all people, I would never expect them to do that.''

Are you new in the Apple or something, Dave?

As for the age-old rivalry, now that he's changed Sox, Wells says he's itching to beat his former boss.

''I'd like to beat George Steinbrenner,'' he said.

Wells is apparently still sore that The Boss fined him $100,000 after he admitted pitching a 1998 no-hitter with a hangover.

''Jeezus! Mickey Mantle had hangovers. Babe Ruth had them. It started way before me,'' he said. ''And I tarnished the Yankees' image?

LOL, I didn't know that. Well I wouldn't be all joyful to go there and get that crap. Who likes to be called that? Not me.

Well...doesn't look like there will be a David Wells day at Yankee Statdium any time soom.

''I've lost all respect for New York fans,'' Boomer says

That goes both ways Boomer.

Heh...same things could be said for Wells. I mean if he expected to come into Yankee Stadium with a "B" on his hat and be showered with love...well...he's not as smart as I thought he was.

Boomer fits in perfectly with the Sox, the exact opposite goes with the Yankees. Wells doesn't exactly fit in the whole "Pride of the Yankees"********. He does have a point about Mantle and Ruth though.

It's not the fact he was boo'd. It's the fact that there were signs that read, "YOU FAT, STUPID TRAITOR!" and he heard things like, "f*** YOU, MOTHERf***ER!" He could accept the boos. But the personal attacks put him over the edge.

Yeah, thats way overboard, no matter what team you are fans for. That's uncalled for, and I can totally understand his anger.

********. He got cheered when he came to the Stadium as a Padre. He's been in the rivalry long enough, he should know what he was getting into. He was there when the Zim/Pedro thing went down and he knows how passionate the rivalry is. No reason for him to bitch and moan about the fans betraying him. He signs anywhere else, and we've got no problem. He went and gave the finger to NY by choosing to play in Boston, and he deserves what he gets.

I'm not saying I hate Boomer, I love his attitude and the way he plays the game. But while he's got that uniform on, f*** him.

He would be giving New York the finger had he spurned any offer he recieved from the Yankees. The fact of the matter is, is that Boomer wasn't wanted in New York, which probably hurt him, more than the personal attacks.

Boomer is just being Boomer. When you attack him, he'll always fire back, it's just who he is.

love it when our starting pitching antigonizes their fans. worked out quite well for Schilling in Game 1 of the ALCS last year...

Good point BoSox. I remember another case:

Sheffield:"The Red Sox aren't really winners.", or something to that effect.

Oh, wah, wah, they say bad things about me when I lose them a world series, wah, wah.

Grow up you f***tard.

He costs us the world series by not staying in shape and then basically says "f*** you" to yankee fans by signing with the sox, and then he's surprised we're not giving him a standing O??? Wells has to be one of the dumbest people on the planet.

Yeah gee and that really ment something in the long run, huh?

How did he say "f*** you" to the Yankees by signing with Boston? Is the guy supposed to retire just because the Yankees don't want him. I mean think about it ... wouldn't you want to be on the best team? If you had your choice wouldn't you go to the place where you thought you could win a World Series? I could understand what your saying if the Yanks offered him a contract this year, but they didn't.

How is he dumb? Because he's honest? Because he's on a 1st place team instead of a 2nd place team? Because he's better than any pitcher in the Yankees rotation? Because he doesn't like the Yankees anymore? Let's not talk about people being dumb when you have Gary Sheffield, Jason Giambi, and Kevin Brown on the same team. People in glass houses shouldn't throw rocks.

You're kiddin right? Saying "f*** you" to Yankee fans? Everyone knows he wanted to sign with the Yankees during the offseason, they didn't want him. The Yankees has thier chance to sign him and passed, so he went to the next team that made him the best offer, that team happened to be the Red Sox.

He didn't say "f*** you" to Yankee fans by signing with the Sox, anybody would have done the sam thing.
