This is what scares me about the whole Schilling situation after last night. He was pitching against the worst team in baseball and he went 5.0 innings, 9 hits, and 6 runs against the Royals. Now if that happened to him against K.C what is he going to do against team like the Yankees or the White Sox if we were to play them come playoff time. This is definatley not the Schilling of last year, the trooper who pitched amazing in the playoffs even with the ankle problems. That was a Schilling I don't think we are going to see again this year. Maybe the age is starting to take a tole on him.

Here we go again. What is with all of you fair weather fans. Rents isn't hitting so you crucify him, then he starts hitting and you jump back on his band wagon. Schilling has one bad start so you crucify him, then when he eventually will get it going you'll all jump on his band wagon. Look, you're either a Red Sox fan or your not. Some of you are making us look like Yankee fans(fair weather) and I really don't like that. You can't pick and chose when you're going to cheer for a player. Learn how to be fans, and stop being cry babies every time someone has a bad game.

Did you people(everyone being negative) really think that Curt was gonna throw a no hitter? It was his first start since the begining of the season ... of course it's gonna be a little shakey. How you can say he didn't have good location when he only walked one hitter is beyond me.

Either stand behind the Sox 365 days a year or stop pretending to be a fan.

def agree, as i have been trying to defend curt also in my posts. this is the guy who gave red sox nation a world series win, first one in 86 years. last time he threw 75 pitches or more was back in april. only his first start back, so far his next scheduled game is game 2 or 3 against the d-rays at Fenway Park

While I agree you shouldn't kill Schilling, there is a genuine reason for concern. Yankee fans dismissed RJ as 'only one bad start' for a while, and he still hasn't shown up.

I agree that there is reason for concern, but there is a big difference between concern and being a fair weather douche bag. I'm not saying that I'm not concerned with Curt, but I'm far from jumping off the ship. Concern is a normal part of our lives, especially as sports fans. But jumping off a bandwagon before the dance is over isn't.

Concern is saying something along the lines of "I really hope Curt can right the ship"

Being a fair weather douche back is saying "OMFG HE SUCKS!!!11111"

As much as I dislike the mouth, you have to give him credit. He put his entire career on the line and was a huge reason for the Red Sox winning the World Series last year. I don't think it is fair to be so hard on someone who was willing to give up his career for you.

I prefer to let Tito have blind faith. The fact is, Schilling's velocity is not where it should, while his walks are down now, he is still pitching behind in the count way too much. His first inning last night was great: first pitch strikes, and then he just seem to lose track givng up hits to an awful hitting ball club. Some blame here rests with Tito for not putting out a top lineup to help Schilling get the run support we all knew he would need. Sitting out Nixon (against a righty, that's a new one), and Graffy, having Mirabelli pinch hit in the 8th with the bases drunk, and also whinning about the late start didn't help.

He was hitting 94 last night ... he was hitting 96 last year ... I'll take that.

Who would you have rather had pinch hit last night? A lefty was on the mound so that takes Papi, and Trot out of the equation ... wouldn't you go with your best power hitting righty? Well that's what Tito did.

No one needs to be blamed for the loss last night besides the team. The team wins ... the team loses. I don't see a need to blame anyone.

Everyone is talking about Schilling as if he was Alan Embree....its ugly no question....is it fair to get on him?? absolutly. Fair to call him a loser and a chump? deffinitly not.

Don't forget he will go down as one of the greatest post-season stories ever. A true warrior who pushed through the pain and came through at one of the greatest times in Red Sox history. Hall of fame pitcher who has been around the majors for a long time.

The problem at the moment is we don't have time for this. It's frustrating but we need results and quickly becasue we should be looking ahead to taking the White Sox off there thrown. Instead we are watching the Yankees close in. I still think we win the division cause with the Yanks pitching rotation...I just don't see a huge stretch of wins in a row. Then again I'm not sure we can either unless we settle in on a rotation, closer, bullpen, and Francona plays the starters EVERYDAY. (a month left Tito the main guys need to be in there at this point)
