I think this could be Timlin's best year as a ML Pitcher.

ERA - Way down

HR - Only 1 WOW

ER - Only 12 all season in 60 innings!

Can we say MVP of the bullpen!

The oddest thing is he only has 2 saves this season and that ties the most in his last 3 seasons. He pitches well against both rightys & leftys. I think he will be our hero through the play-offs this year. I have a bad feeling about Foulke. He'll be back in time for the play-offs. I just hope he has his stuff and doesn't blow it. If he is blowing it hopefully Fraconchawaitandsee better get his ass out and put my man Timlin in.

Really, you have to start him with a fresh inning, you can't bring him in with men on base. His BAA is up this year a pretty good amount for years past, so you know he'll give up a hit or two, but he's going to get out of the jam if he's in one.

yeah but the reason he's doing so good is the same reason damon(.339) and mueller(.296) are doing so good- FREE AGENT YEAR- they're gonna want the big bucks to come back

But Millar's a FA too and he is sucking, I think it's just that those guys are solid players. I don't buy the theory that players only perform well during their contract years. I mean if they have the ability to perform better during their contract years, couldn't they perform better all the time?

Sadly, Timlin hasn't received a lot of the recognition he should be getting cause he's been stuck setting up guys who have blown saves all year

that's a little unfair to Damon and Mueller. Mueller has a .292 career average so I don't see why him hitting .296 is considered out of the ordinary. Even Damon hit .304 last year and actually had 20 homers. His RBIs were also better last year but all in all, I don't buy that theory

Timlin didn't do so hot, but I think he'll settle down and give us some saves until Foulke can get his s*** together. I never really thought Foulke was injured enough to go on DL, I always thought it was because he sucked. Hopefully he (Foulke) has found himself enough to get the job done.

schilling is a better closer than mike timlin has been

That may be the case but its not like Timlin is a long term solution. I don't believe either players are good at closing. As far as inherited runners yeah Mike is better served to come in for a whole inning. Myers and Bradford are good in that role considering there is usually an out or 2 and they just need to get the lefty or righty out....which they do very well....

I dont know about anyone else but I'm pretty happy with the Jay Payton trade. Bradford has quietly done an excellent job.
