... Im not really sure what to expect if I go.

How do red sox fans get treated at yankee stadium? :D

The people at fenway are pretty chill, when I went to the series opener against the yankees last month, I didnt see any yanks fans having a hard time.

I hope its the same for yankee stadium, but I dont know being that I've never been there. which is why I need the help :D

any info anyone can pass on to me is appreciated.

They're pretty cool unless you're blatent about being a Sox fan ( wearing a a Yankees Suck T-shirt Red Sox T-shirt or cap wouldn't be a good idea unless you and you friends are big ass fellows or really quick with a joke ).

I go to all the Sox/Yankee Games in NY--I always wear my Sox shirt and cheer for them: I have only encountered a few problems. Master Shake, don't worry about it: the only people I see getting hassled are those wearing "Yankees Suck" shirts or the embarrassing Sox fans who curse and scream negative things about Yankee players.

Which game are you going to? We'll be at the game on Saturday, September 10.

Best to stay out of the right field bleachers, Yankee fans get a little nuts there. One other time I saw a Sox fan at a Yankee - O's game. He was all decked out in his Sox Garb shouting "I'm just here to see the Yanks lose", he started getting showered with beer. That was just stupid and I kind of think he was asking for trouble.

I dont think its like a Yankees fan showing up to Fenway. If you look out to the bleachers way up by the Teletron you regularly see fights. Fans at Fenway are brutal. My college roomate is from NY and I refuse to bring him to Fenway.

That is the game we are thinking of going to also :)

The responses in this thread are promising. I don't own any Yankees Suck clothing :D I told my friend I'd wear my sox cap and she was all, oh I wouldn't even go that far. Would like to wear one of my many V-Tek jerseys also though. :)

Surprising to hear how rowdy the fans are in the bleachers at fenway during sox/yanks games. Well... I guess it isn't actually surprising, but I only went to the one game last month. I sat in the grandstand and didnt see anyone having problems, also some guy was being a little annoying on the T on teh way back and nobody said anything to him either.

Yanks fans at the stadium treat Sox fans fine. I hate it when people wear Boston caps to a Yankees/Rangers game though. Don't be too loud and you will be fine.

I might be in trouble if V-Tek hits another grand slam then, I was at fenway the first time he did it and I lost my voice for the rest of the day kekeke :D

it's a s*** hole no matter how you slice it, but for the most part they are too busy muggin each other to bother with sox fans..

inbreeding has a way of making yankee fans a little slower than other fans. Oriole fans are okay...but most yankee fans are pretty pathetic. high lantern jaw, close set eyes, big lips, big fore head...mouth kind of open, moronic facial exprssions...little ears..unshaven...bad breathe, horns...you get the picture..

sitting by the dugout is safe those yankee fans are rich and stupid, some good white collar criminals sit there, like rudy G.

the futher out you get...watch out..

during a sox game all I can say is that if you sit in the right field bleachers you'll feel like a black guy(holding a sign that say I hate honkies) at a Klan rally.

I dealt with that at the one game I went to this year, they sat right next to me.

As long as you are respectful you won't have any problems. Have fun at the game.

Hahhaa :D

that's what I figured. I plan to stay away from the bleachers haha

It would be silly to be disrespectful especially seeing how outnumbered I'm going to be. :D (even with the people I'm going with... a couple of yankees fans themselves)

but thanks.... it should be a good time B)

Wow, my experience at Fenway wasnt great in terms of how the Sox fans treated me...but thats another story

....most of the time its not much of a problem, but it does depend on where you sit and what game you go to. Friday night games are usually a little bit wildier than Sat. and Sun.

Have fun!

Your name is 26-6 on a Red Sox discussion forum. I could only imagine what you would say/do at Fenway.

Anyways my expieriences at Yankee Stadium have been good, I went to the game where Jeter dove into the stands, Manny 2 HR's etc. etc. It got intense toward the end but all in all it was good, don't wea Yankees Suck aything, Red Sox hat and shirt are fine.

I have yet to experience the Sox-Yanks rivalry but I have been to a couple of other big rivalrys... The Indiana-Kentucky basketball game and the Louisville-Kentucky football game... During both the Fans from each team may say something to each other just having fun but I have never seen any "real" fights break out or anything. I would think that as long as you don't harrass them or taunt them or anything everything should be fine. Keep in mind since they are playing the Sox, the Bankees fans aren't going to be interested in saying something to every single Sox fan they see around the stadium or inside the stadium so you should be fine.

that's a good way to put it. :D

thanks again everyone for the info... it's still not 100% definite yet, but I think we are going to go. I hope to have a good time but I doubt like hell I'll have the kind of time I have at Fenway when I go there. haha theres a part of me that doesnt want to go to yankee stadium... I'd rather go to Shea, but my friend is a Yankees fan :D

I figured it would decrease my chances of winning the Fenway one and I'd much rather have those tickets.. haha you have no idea how the idea of field box level seats at Fenway make me feel... all warm and fuzzy inside like I just downed a whole bottle of grey goose.

I've been to Fenway. Remember that game when Arod hit a blast off Schill that would later be the winning runs of the game? Forgot already? hah just kidding but yeah my experiences at Fenway haven't been bad considering that there are quite a large number of Yankees fans there too. I had the privelage once of sitting next to a man about 65 years old who was a Yankees fan and if anyone was cursing at us, I didn't hear because I was too busy watching the game and hearing him talk about guys like Mantle and Maris. Red Sox wouldn't be Red Sox without Fenway, the place is great and even though people don't like me being there wearing my number 13 jersey, I like the experience a lot.

yes, I do remember haha.

even with the loss I'm still glad I was there because the place went NUTS when Schil came out and it was incredible.

glad to hear you had a good time at fenway :D

sox fan on cape, thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a try.

One piece of advice, and I don't want to come off across as rude but it has to be said, don't be an idiot. You're a guest in another team/fan base's home; act as such. Applaud and root for your team, but don't take it too far (the biggest mistake visiting fans make and pay for.) I've been to Yankee - Sox games in both Fenway and Yankee Stadium, and this little bit of advice has served me well.
