OK, so when do these big names get released? I'm dying with anticipation.

If you do that, then you might as well perform S & M when your not, because that's less painful.

These names won't be that big, and it'll be probably a week or two before it's confirmed by MLB.

Did you guys see Nixon's flip-out tonight? Roid rage much?

In all seriousness, I just hope that no one on the Sox is on steroids. And as much as I love everyone on the team, if any of them were caught juicing, I would immediately lose all respect for the player, regardless of who it is. And you all should as well.

Just heard on WEEI that according to Jerry Remy (9:30 am ET) there will be other BIG names revealed who have tested positive for steroids. Im guessing that Remy may have mentioned this in his Remy Report. Is anyone else concerned that maybe a few of our beloved RedSox players may have been on the juice? Do the other Big names maybe involve Jason Giambi? (Who has been on a tear)

Looking at current Sox players I would say that none of them appear to be on steroids. Johny Damon is a pretty cut guy but reports indicate that he has been tested three times this season, so I guess he is safe. Other than that I guess you could speculate Kevin Millar may have been on them at one point a few years back. Millar has gotten bigger, more out of shape, and his production has dropped off the face of the planet since the new steroid policy was introduced.

Here are his stats breakdown:

2003 25 HR 96 RBI .820 OPS

2004 18 HR 74 RBI .857 OPS

2005 4 HR 40 RBI .736 OPS

Not to mention his physique changed from a Baseball player to a Beer League softball player.

What do you think? Who do you think may be on them, who do you think these Big Names are? Concerned about anyone from the SOX appearing on the list?

Discuss.

Time Out, Time Ot...Giambi has been tested 3 times as well, most recently about 2 weeks ago. How come he's not considered safe by many of you guys, but Damon is.

Guys like Manny have a natural talent and don't need steroids and they're always good.

So do uys like Sheffield, but that doesnt stop you guys from pointing fingers at him.

It's pretty useless to speculate, as it can be pretty much anybody.

A little off topic, but I'm curious as to what you guys have to say about this..

I think one thing everyone overlooks in the Giambi/Sheffield/Bonds- Balco thing. I hear people often say that these guys cheated.

Now, if I'm not mistaken, cheaters are the ones who break the rules. In this instance, there were no rules to break, what they were using was allowed by the MLB. That isn't cheating. It is immoral, yes. But not against the rules, and not cheating. Palmiero getting caught and suspended, that is cheating. I agree, what Bonds and Giambi did was wrong, but cheating wasn't what they did. And we can't have ex post facto laws.

It's similar to the Yankee's ridiculous payroll IMO. It's not right and it certainly shouldn't be allowed, but it is. It's not ethical for the Yankees to have a payroll 15x that of the AL Central, but its legal and it isn't cheating.

It may be legal, but like you said, the immorals of it outweigh it. You are giving yourself strength that you don't build up on your own, as an enhancement because you're not sure if you can do it on your own. It's not pure man power. That's what pisses me off the most, these guys don't think they can survive in baseball with their own man power so they go out and use an enhancement to put themselves above others who naturally hit the ball with their own power.

I just hate them because it's not their own hard work that gets them bigger and stronger. They don't work as hard as other players but can still put up as good or sometimes better numbers than the people who devote hard work and time to their game. That's why I hate people who cheat. If anyone on the Red Sox is associated with BALCO or is on 'roids, I will lose all respect for them INSTANTLY, regardless of their name, and tell them to leave now, because a team doesn't need someone who doesn't work as hard as his teammates on the it.

You are right in that it was not cheating before. Thats major league baseballs fault. Never the less the players should have more respect for the game then to smudge its name all over illegal drugs. I get annoyed when I see football players get nailed for drugs.....GROW UP athletes. Its the real world try to conduct yourself in a professional manner.

thats the kind of stretching, semantics bending kind of thinking that has allowed these *******s to sleep at night.

MLB rules probably dont include specific language about murder or child molesting but I doubt it is embraced or encouraged. Taking performance enhancing drugs illegally is wrong. Taking legal body building supplements you can buy at the store isnt. **********s like barry bonds wouldnt put a slice of pizza or a candy bar in his mouth without knowing what it was cooked in, etc, all of sudden they seem so confused about the drugs they take. You can play with words all you want, these guys are pissing on the game and should all be electrocuted.LOL..I guess maybe that is bit harsh...but a good public hanging is always a fun way to bond(s).

lol tell us how you really feel. I love how Sheffield comes out and says players caught on steroids should be suspended for the year....wouldn't it be great if he was caught...then he was the only one suspended for a year

Gary Sheffield is a jerk first of all, second of all I dont think Manny Ramirez was linked to BALCO like TWO yankees....Giambi and Sheffield. I dont see your point here, we point our fingers at sheffield because most likely, he used them, just as Barry Bonds did. SHeffield and Bonds "unintentionally" took them. Unintentional my ass, Sheff is a jerk, and a cheater.

They took steroids. They knew what they were putting in their bodies. How could one not feel the effects. Please dont play dumb, Im pretty sure If my trainor is giving me some substance and my bench press goes from 225 to 475 there is a PRETTY good chance its steroids, call me crazy I guess. They cheated, plain and simple.

oh yeah right, sheffileds name has only been linked to Balco and bonds becaus of disgruntled sox fans. Again, sheffield is lying..

He didnt take anything or use anything not knowing what it was? That's a homo defense and one so ridiculous that only faggy yankee fans would believe it.

These dicks are so obbssessed with their f***ing bodies they probably check the ingredients of everything they eat, then all of sudden a buddy says here take this--..oh by the way hey what was in that pill you just gave me?

Sheffield should be banned for being a stinky ******* but assuming that I am alone on that one, he is a steroids taking cheater and should drawn and quartered for cheating.

at least giambi had the base balls to apologize, sheff just keeps lying.

homo.

Everyone so far that has been linked to steroids has said they didn't mean to or didn't know which means......this whole thing is a conspiracy. Someone is giving steroids to athletes without them knowing and slipping it into there food or jabbing them in the ass without them being aware. Its all a conspiracy, these players are innocent and didn't mean to do it.

Something very big on the "irony" table, I was just watching espn's show called Outside the Lines. Jason Giambi, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, and Rafael Palmeiro all of whom were of course were in the steroid scandal of this spring all wear the # 25

Wasnt GIambi a different number with Oakland where his steroid use first occured? Dont mean to squash this coincidence haha, i think he was number 13 or 16 with Oakland.

Yeah, I just looked, Giambi was #16 on Oakland

Nobody here thinks Kapler is on the juice? My cousin also used to play in the Marlins organization during the time when Millar and Sheffield were both there and he said that they were both on the juice. He said Millar didn't use it nearly as frequently as Sheff though.

Do you know how they work? Obviously not. You are either on them, or not. There is no "frequently" issue. You are either on a cycle, or off a cycle. There is no in between. Not using them consistently is like working out once every 12 days. It doesnt make sense. There is a process to using steroids. You dont just take them and all of a sudden your huge.

And oh yeah, by the way Kevin Millar and Gary Sheffield have never, and I repeat NEVER played on the same team. Sheffield played with the Marlins from 1993-1997, and only appeared in 40 games in 1997. Kevin Millar played with the Marlins from 1998-2002 and only played in 2 games in 98. Maybe your "cousin" should do a little research before telling such great stories.

I guess it has been confirmed by Gammons on espn INSIDER that 50 players tested positive and one of the names is even bigger than Palmeiros. I hate the media for this, I am anxious to find out which players these are. And 50! HOLY CRAP, 50 cheaters......if this is true baseball as we know it might suffer severe consequences, this could dramatically change the game, and the way people feel about the national pastime.

I wish kevin would be allowed to take them he might actually do more than an occasional measly hit or pop up to the infield.

They should the Millar execption clause.

he gets a ten game suspension if stops taking them,.

why would gammons get this story right he hasnt gotten one right in his whole career.

every trade rumor every thing that guy says either never happens or has already happened and he got it off the wire.

I bet it doesnt work out that way now pete has said that. I know it's blasphemy to say all this but I am puzzled at the high regard that this guy is held by citizens of the RSN..I'm holding him to this scoop, and I bet it works out very differently-it always does.
