If it is true. He would have to be the dumbest person I have ever seen .. After sitting in front of Congess ..

also if it is true, he has a future in Hollywood, he really seemed pissed off at Canseco at those hearings, even pointing his finger at him...i hope it isn't true, i always thought Raffy was a class act.

It's on ESPn news now. He's suspended 10 games. OWNED

10 games only? It needs to be 1/2 a season - a whole season. They need to set a precedent, and 10 games isn't enough. Are they still on the 5 strikes your out rule?

I completely believe Canseco from the beginning. Yeah, he's probably a rat for doing it, but i always thought that he was telling the truth. He had nothing to hide.

Why wouldn't any of those people sue him for slander? It's not worth their time? I can tell you this, if somebody accused me of using steriods, I would be mad as hell and sue them. Not for the money but to clear my name.

Raffy is a cheater, along with the rest of them. I mean that's why the whole era is tainted. Because like Canseco said, everyone was doing them. Just go back and look at some of the numbers people put up. Brady Anderson? Luis Gonzalez? Bret Boone? the list goes on and on.

All I know is canseco is not a liar after all when he mentioned him in his book....he mentioned giambi..palmeiro...looks like pudge is next.

It's just something that we have to live with.

wait just 10 games? i thought that the new rule was first time catching players take steroids, it was like 60 day suspension which would be rest of season

The rule should read "60 games unless it's a well-known player whose suspension would tarnish the game of baseball."

As an Oriole fan living in Baltimore I am ashamed of this, this is a dark day in Oriole history. And if he lied before Congress....this is just so bad. Unless there is some kind of mistake, I hope he does not go to the Hall of Fame now.

I cannot help but think that many others are taking steroids too, and I am very suspicious of Giambi.

His resurgance and hitting 14 HR in July that just is hard to swallow. Like Raffy he was terrible at the beginning of the year and his power surge is much more dramatic than Raffys.

Bad day for Raffy. I doubt they will get him on perjury charges to Congress because he got caught after the testimony, and there is no way to prove he did steroids before he testified.

riverside-- Bud Selig suggested that the penalty be something more like this penalty, but the Players' Association wouldn't allow it.

This is not only a dark day for Raffy and the Orioles, this is a dark day for Major League Baseball. I bet most of us have forgotten the names of the lesser named players (Juan Rincon and Alex Sanchez are all I can remember off the top of my head), but everyone will remember Palmiero-- he was a Hall of Fame candidate before this news came down -- and look at what the corked bat did to Sammy Sosa..... this is much much worse.

I always liked Palmiero. Thought he was a great hitter and a class act. He still denies "intentionally" using banned substances. What does that mean Raffy?
