Francisco is missing his spots today, 3 walks to load the bases, now 2-0 on ARod.

Sheffield should of K'd twice on that at bat. He definitely went.

Even so, the game is still over after the ARod walk and Matsui double.

Other notes:

-Jay Payton hits a grand slam, A's winning currently winning 6-3 v. Detroit

-Orioles losing to White Sox 9-6 in the 9th

-Lowe has gone 4 IP and has already given up 6 hits on 5 ER

K-Rod looked legitimately scared when he was facing A-Rod there. He refused to throw strikes and that cost him the game.

This will be the last nail in the Yankees coffin.

With that lump in Embree's cheek, Jeter and Rodriguez don't stand a chance of ever keeping their eyes on the ball in play.

Alan Embree was picked up off waivers by the NY Yankees.

ive been predicting it since he was DFA...and let me tell you. sitting in that stadium yesterday when he came in i thought it would be the perfect opprotunity for him to stick it to the Sox. After he threw the ball away someone sitting near me yelled "you're still pitching for Boston you bum" and i had no choice but to chuckle..its kinda like when people would always say that Ramiro Mendoza was still on George's payroll when he went to Boston.

but anyways, he keeps pitching like he did yesterday then i wouldnt be surprised to see him DFA again. But hopefully he picks it up and does for us what hes done for you guys in the past

embr-era sucks and will always suck, yankee fans will learn to hate him, and he will be gone soon eneough.

good luck with him, you can have him..

I am really surprised that Embree has not been doing well in New York. I mean, if you are Alan you realize that you pitched horrible in Boston and another team with so much history picks you up and I just thought that would fire him up and he'd step up his game. You are getting pretty much a clean slate in a new location and you start off bad -- that's got to be tough.

Well from Buster Olney keeps harping on ESPN that the Yankees "feel good" about Embree's performance - mainly because he had the velocity. Soooo...

Psst - the Yanks plan is to use Embree as a left-hand specialist against David Ortiz.

Err...heh?

Get him out, and dude, you'll earn your pinstripes. B)

Embree as a specialist against ortiz???? No. Ortiz is going to be Embree's specialist. Ortiz will own him. I can't wait. When's the next series? If it's more then a week away, embree would be released by then

Here it comes...

YEAH I KNOW! But this what Brian "Statue of Libery" Cashman got him for.

ONE batter, Embree, ONE batter, that's ALL we're asking for!

Umm, I think next Yanks-Sox meeting isn't for awhile, end of August or maybe September. And they'll be keeping him around if this is what they're planning on doing...if they find they right bullpen order, TanGorMo with some F-Rod and co., it could good enough. They traded Groom today.

Holy on they're gonna use Embree as a specialist against Ortiz? The same Alan Embree who can't seem to get a single lefty out this year? The same Alan Embree that has allowed lefties to hit .314 with a .908 OPS? The same Alan Embree who hasn't ever faced David Ortiz?(Maybe he did when he was with the Twinkies, but thats a different David Ortiz.) I think Joe has been taking coaching classes from Lloyd McClendon.
