I bet you felt really cool giving that fist pump at the end of the 9th inning. Did you not realize that you had one job, that would be to save a two-run lead and you BLEW IT? You give up a HR to V-tek, then three hits later you've COMPLETELY screwed things up and the Sox have tied it at 10. I bet you felt real good striking out our backup second baseman to end the inning.

The 10th inning comes up, and Lou brings you back hoping you can atleast hold down the game and you can't even do that. You give up a leadoff HR to a guy who has only hit six on the year prior to that, you give up ANOTHER hit followed by your defense blowing what should have been a DP. Then captain Varitek doubles and drives in another. Want to reconsider that fist pump?

You must look in the weirdest places for those emoticons... :D

Just see them on different message boards. That one of the guy pissing really comes in handy sometimes if I feel the need to bash a player or team. ;)

so, he fist pumped? dang, i wish gameday had updates on all that small stuff like player arrogance and..oh yeah, when someone gets a ball to the face. all it said was "injury delay". I never would have known if I didn't also have the radio.

anyway, what a jerk. TB is starting to make me mad. besides, you KNOW your in trouble when Tex uses a foreign emoticon! gosh!

Yeah, JohnnyDug... Jerry Remy was really ripping Baez for it as well. After he struck out Tony G and did that, the NESN crew was all over them, so I thought I should post a thread about it.

this is a perfect example of the Red Sox in some regards...what, did everyone forget how Urbina used to make gestures when he closed the door on us...i dont see how Sox fans or Sox broadcasters..or anyone connected to the Sox in any aspect can be mad after the s*** Urbina pulled.

No... but you don't see the difference between making such a gesture when you actually, as you said, "Close the door" on a team and when you've just blown a 2 run lead?

this is a perfect example of yankee fans not knowing the difference between apples and oranges. and while we are on the subject of fist pumping...i hate the way deek jeter pumps his fist.

Urbina celebrated after he SUCCESSFULLY closed the door. Manny admires when he SUCCESSFULLY hits a HR.

Either way its pointless.

For the record, I agree with Booger here. I hate it when players stand there and admire homeruns.

Fist pumping to me is different because it's probably a show of emotion at the time of getting a key out or a key hit, etc.

There are appropriate times, ala D.Lowe vs Oakland couple of years ago. Although Oakland fans were abit pissed.

Hoo boy, were they ever. They thought he made the "suck it' gesture. Tejada was FUMING ater the game, saying that his kids were in the stands and that Lowe was a bad influence. This after Tejada had been seen by the cameras multiple times during the game swearing at the top of his lungs.
