THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX BITCHES!! Bring 'em on. Gunna be a GREAT series and looking forward to seeing Buehrle, Garland, Contreras, El Duque. Not Freddy, he pitched the other day, but this should be a great test for our bats. We need to get to the pitchers and take early leads to wear the pitchers down quickly and efficiently. We need big outings from our pitchers as well, even though CWS doesn't have the best of hitters, they can still score enough to get their pitchers wins. Most noteable batters: Konerko, Thomas, Podsednick, Rowand, any others?

GO SOX!

Note: The first match-up tomorrow night is Clement @ Buehrle...looks to be a great game.

EDIT: whoops, can an admin/mod help me out and change the 7/22 to 7/21 in the title? Forgot we don't have Thursday off this week.

4 Nights of Carl Everett should be fun.

Mostly night games, with none on Fox/ESPN. Even better.

I am surprised that there won't be any games on either ESPN or FOX. This is a pretty big series between the two Sox teams. You'd think that at least one game would be on the bigger stations, so poor college students like me who don't have NESN or MLB.tv can at least catch one game. But I can't complain I have watched a fair amount of games this year since a lot of them have been on ESPN/FOX.

do you think a couple of wins against the Rays will be enough to keep the sox going? it just doesn't feel like much of a victory. I hope the sox play like they are only a half game ahead.

*prays to god that I get the NESN coverage on MLB Extra Innings* Man, if I have to put up with White Sox announcers on FSN Midwest, I will die.

FSN midwest..pah.

Good luck guys. It should be a good series. The Yanks have a decent test against the LA Angels as well. I wish that Baltimore was doing better these days to make it interesting. I miss the old days when all three teams were after each other...

the O's are still hangin. they were winning for a bit today..

They are hanging around but a little shakey lately. I've been watching them here and there. BJ blew two saves in a row the last two games. There were some team errors that didn't help of course. I missed today's afternoon game though.

actually barely caught an inning out to lunch today. i was the nerd running over the the mini TV at the bar every four seconds. The blown save thing is kind of a downer. Not that I should feel bad for them. I wanted them to lose I guess. Competition is fun but everything needs to be going well for the sox at the moment i think.

I rather see all three teams do well and fight each other to the end..

It's still a long way from October and it's only four games, but it's going to be hard for both teams in this series to not look at this as a barometer of where they are heading into October.

The White Sox have had troubles recently losing 5 of 6 at home. And with an injury to their closer and bullpen anchor Dustin Hermanson (yes that same Dustin Hermanson), they've resorted to the dreaded closer by committee.

Still this is a team with two viable Cy Young candidates, Mark Buehrle and Jon Garland, both of whom will face Boston in this series today and Friday respectively, and one of the best defensive teams in baseball. And their record of 62-31 is just completely sick even if they are in the same division as Kansas City.

Nature may have it's own plans for extending the hype of this series; there is an 80% chance of showers to night scheduled to begin around 6 o'clock. So it's likely the White Sox won't start this game unless they are sure that Buehrle won't get interrupted by an additional delay and waste a start.

I'm hyped for this series, even if I'll have to put up with the Chicago announcers for all four games. This is a time for the boys to step up and show that they're still the World Champs. Besides, who couldn't get excited knowing that "Crazy" Carl Everett will be in the house.

I'm nervous about this series, hopefully they'll stay cold for now, it'd be huge if we took 3/4. If we don't it's very likely that we will find ourselves in 2nd after this series. Who are the Yanks playing?

pitching matchups for tonight at 8pm, ugh its seems so long away for me right now, haha. Matt Clement's career stats against Chicago White Sox is so/so at best with a 2-1 record and 5.06 ER. He is faced off against Chicago batters in limited fashion, but of course biggest hreat for him will be to hold down the speedy podsenik.

Matt Clement vs:

Joe Crede, 3 for 5 (.600 avg) 2 doubles, 2 RBIs, walk

Jermaine Dye, 2 for 4 (.500 avg) K

ex-Red Sox outfielder Carl Everett, 2 for 3 (.667 avg) 2 RBIs

Willie Harris, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) 2 RBIs, K

Paul Konerko, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) HR, 2 RBIs

Timo Perez, 3 for 11 (.273 avg), RBI, walk, K

AJ Pierzynski, 0 for 3

Scott Podsenik, 6 for 17 (.353 avg) HR, 2 RBIs, 2 walks, 3 Ks, 5 for 6 SBs

Frank Thomas, 1 for 7 (.143 avg) HR, RBI, 2 walks,4 Ks

Juan Uribe, 2 for 6 (.333 avg) 2 doubles, RBI, 2 Ks

Chris Widger, 1 for 3 (.333 avg) 2 Ks

Well, there is no more FSN Chicago - it's been replaced by Comcasts Sports Net which splits White Sox coverage with WGN. I'm stuck listening to the Chicago announcers no matter what. I don't mind homers, but they talk about the team like they're thirteen year old girls drooling over a hot teacher (or as we've seen in the past few days, over "Heavenly" Hanley Ramirez".)

Ken Harrelson kicks ass, I love watching White Sox games.
