  1. That really is a shame that he did not get a gold medal. It is not really his fault either. He did a good job with the crap players he was given. All of those players that did not go because of "Safety" (they wanted safety of wallet more) should be ashamed of themselves. Same thing with that Baseball World Classic thing and how Sheffield won't play for no pay. It really is a shame that these athletes don't even care about playing for their own country.
  2. Larry Brown took the Clippers to the Playoffs. Any man that can do that deserves a medal.
  3. I am not excited at all to hear this. When he was a Tampa Bay Devil Ray, I went to a few games just to catch some baseball (Yes I know I watched another team besides the Red Sox, I apologize), but the few times I did see him, he got lit up like a candle. He was awful and I hope we don't get him. He was put into pretty much every game I went to and I knew right away that the Rays would lose, which wasn’t a problem because I was a Red Sox fan. I feel bad for the Mets just for having him, even if he is pitching well right now.
  4. I am surprised that there won't be any games on either ESPN or FOX. This is a pretty big series between the two Sox teams. You'd think that at least one game would be on the bigger stations, so poor college students like me who don't have NESN or MLB.tv can at least catch one game. But I can't complain I have watched a fair amount of games this year since a lot of them have been on ESPN/FOX.
  5. Yeah I haven't been a huge fan of some of his managerial decisions thus far this week or during the season for that matter. But I am not a manager or player or anybody special, so I am sure they know a hell of a lot more about the sport then I do. I was hoping that maybe he was just stressed out from the All-Star game preparations in the first half and was just screwing up because of that, but I guess I was just trying to justify. The guy did bring this team to a championship, so I guess he must know what he is doing to some degree. His biggest problem, in my eyes, is that he gets to attached to the guys that brought him a championship last year. Millar and Bellhorn have been struggling thus far this year and he kept them in the lineup night in and night out hoping that they turned it around. Bellhorn never turned it around (in fact I think he got worse), but Millar has been batting better. With Bellhorn on the DL now, Its going to be interesting to see how Tony G. is going to play in his place.
  6. It makes my eyes water when I see a lineup that is Bellhorn-less. I have been waiting for that day for a very long time. Hopefully I will never have to see a Bellhorn ridden line up again.
  7. Talk about a lot of drama going on today. Plus the Sox won and the Yankees lost, meaning we are back in 1st for the time being.
  8. Good, now I can watch a second baseman that does not strike out every at bat. It will be nice not seeing Bellhorn strike out every time. I like the majority, were getting a bit tired of him to say the least.
  9. Man lots of news going around today, thats for sure.
  10. What is this all of a sudden? Three trade related posts in like a matter of minutes, its pandemonium.
  11. Yeah maybe we can just get them drunk enough to just hand over Santana without a fight. If that doesn't work we could just use force persuasion. You will hand over Johan and the Wookie to me.
  12. From what I have seen of Youkilis (which I have to say is very little) I have liked. But I am ready to see him take over for Bill Mueller? Not really. I just don't think trading away a big bat like Mueller's is a smart idea. Which brings me back to my original point, getting rid of Millar makes more sense to me, but that’s me. But these are rumors so we'll just have to sit and watch what happens.
  13. Yeah that just came to me after I had said it
  14. Yeah what he said. Give them Millar instead. It said in the article that Millar was also an option. We have a decent replacement for Millar, but not for Mueller. Damn all these Millars and Muellers and Millers are making my head spin.
  15. The Yankees are now losing and the Orioles are also tied in the 10th against the Mariners, so those games are not over quite yet. What is funny is that in a 3-hour span we could possibly go from first place to third in our division, and even out of the wildcard, it’s amazing. But of course it is only July, so really there is plenty of time to recover from this disaster. I think the whole team might still be riding an a emotional wave from breaking the so called "curse" last year. Not to mention all kinds of distractions there have been this season. I mean this team has been on television shows and players are making music CDs and doing concerts, not to mention the distractions that came with the whole coaching the All-Star game. Hopefully we can have a revival like we did last year, one big game that turns it all around. I mean last year it looked pretty grim, but we all know what happened. So, you just never know what can happen.
