Hm, I love how you guys are arguing about homegrown talent. The Red Sox have more future in their minors but the Yanks have more proven homegrown talent on their team.

But seriously, are you guys gonna whip out your dicks too and measure those?

as well as such an immature comment to say the least

Calling people racist as a last-ditch effort is also immature and bush league.

Wow.

The Red Sox have more future in their minors.

Correct. But doesn't that mean the Red Sox are going to have proven homegrown talent on their team for the years to come?

I never said it didn't.

Then what the f*** does this mean?

Your homegrown talent (with the exception of Jeter and Cano) are in decline. While ours is approaching and getting better.

not necessarily, how many top prospects have fizzled at the big league level. some players just cant make the jump. being a top minor league doesnt always translate to being a good major leaguer, or even a major leaguer at all

Thanks, I thought so too. It was succinct, to the point, and correct.

you wanna know what else is succinct, to the point, and correct?

Your an *******

Actually, I'm quite a nice guy. You don't like me because I called you out about being biased and proved it. Get over it.

I called you pathetic because you were obviously trying to get under my skin with the Phillip Hughes and Mo saying hi comment, and it was a pathetic attempt. You guys were railing on DiNardo (who's not much more than a AAAA player), and I merely showed that the Yankees have had similar performances from one of their minor leaguers this year. Hughes and Rivera were totally out of context.

Posted

and you were obviously trying to get under my skin by saying "Sean Henn says hi". And we were just joking around (at least I was, I didnt do any bashing, all I said was not to forget him) with the DiNardo things, you guys rag on Yankees all the time in a similar manner.

And regardless of the one or 2 posts you pulled up, I still think that when I say im being un-biased that im pretty much being un-biased. I have no problem giving the Red Sox their props or anything like that. If they have a better team I would say it. If they have a better Center Fielder I would say it, if they have a better Shortstop I would say it.

I didn't even quote you when I posted "Sean Henn says hi".

When there are two sides to a coin (prospective upside vs. proven record in MLB ), and you contradict yourself by picking whichever side supports the player in your team's system, then your claims of being "unbiased" will seem very suspect.

if you want you can go back to that thread and see that I had no problem ranking the Sox prospect above the Yanks prospect in some categories.

And I didnt say you did quote me, but you made that statement so i figured I would make one back to defend my player. You take things way to personal. In no way was it an attack on you, its just that you pointed out a bad pitching prospect of ours, so i figured i would point out 2 good ones (and yes, I realize that Mo is not a prospect, but he is a product of our system).

Look, this is ridiculous this little fued we have going, im willing to put it behind us if you want to.

So you are saying that Manny Declarmen is better than Mariano Rivera? Shoppach > Posada?

My issue with your argument wasn't over who you picked; it was due to your inconsistency. When you are inconsistent with your evaluating criteria, you look biased.

You guys started this s*** by knocking DiNardo. Henn was the example to show the pot that it was calling the kettle black. A little tit for tat. Why escalate it?

Consider it dropped.

Delcarmen is not a closer, and Shoppach is not going to catch for the Red Sox ever, so maybe you should try again.

just out of curiosity, what is going to happen to Shoppach? Do the Sox plan on trading him? I was under the assumption they keep him around until Tek cant be an everyday catcher anymore.

oh believe me tek was signed to a 4 year contract and mirabelli signed a 2 year contract with option for 3rd season--Shoppach just had a great season in AAA with 25 HRS, he will be traded in the offseason for most likely pitching needs, starting/relieving

hmm, interesting, he always seemd (to me at least) to be popular among Sox fans, possibly could be someone who could move to first for 2 or 3 years when Tek is going to have to give up the everyday catcher's spot. Anyways should get a pretty nice return on Shoppach.

Yeah if I remember we were gonna trade shoppach/stern to colorado for Bigbie...but theo backed out.

thank god!

I'd prefer we tried to move Mirabelli. He's not expensive, and while he won't be as alluring as Shoppach, due to Shoppach's youth and potential, I think he'd fetch us some help where we need it. Namely, a corner outfielder (a RH one to platoon with Trot) or some BP help. We already have enough starters.

like yankees need to keep flaherty to catch RJ. Who will catch for Wakefield? need i say the past playoffs games varitek caught for wake, and those 5 games he caught for Wake this season. mirabelli needs to stay on for wake to be most effective

I was thinking the exact same thing after I read ORS' post
