so lucky thus far, escaping near loses thanks to our star reliever embree.

 

Epstein deserves a hand, for orchastrating a suprising rotation including Cy young candidate Clement, a much improved Wade Miller, and ever reliant David Wells. Even without Schilling this team could do well.

 

Olerud is fitting super well with our team this year, and he is hitting like his old days(something he couldn't quite do dawning a pinstripe uniform). Jay Payton has been a significant improvement over last years hero basestealer and Renteria is proving to be worth every penny(much more steadier SS than cabrera).

 

For the trade deadline we just need one reliable reliever and possibly another long relief guy. Mantei and even Embree should be given very minimal role or go to the minors.

I'm not concerned with the O's for the long haul, and the last thing I want is for the Yankees to have something to build momentum from. Therefore, it's a no-brainer for me. Let's go O's!

Eh, I don't care. Yankees can win a few there. It's not like a win streak helped them in the past.

The Yankees will most likely eventually go on a streak, all we need to do is make sure that we continue to take series, especially against them. Taking 3 of 4 or a sweep would be extremely nice the first series after the All-Star break.

I dont know, but I would kill Derek Jeter to have Guapo back on our team. We need a reliever like him... someone besides Timlin so he doesnt need to pitch every night.

oh yea once curt schilling had gone and at that same time david wells after being roughed up in his first sveral games. i couldnt believe seeing him in toronto givin off 3 straight homeruns. But then he found his groove pitching consecutive shutouts, and then one day after schilling went on the DL, Wells followed him. Must say once one of them goes down, red sox players and staff go out of their way to pick each other up, like how aboot John Halamma starting a game goin 5 strong innings that ended up winning the game. As well as Jeremi Gonzalez, who of course being groomed in pawtucket to be a great starterl.
