will the devil rays have a winning season someday actually in the near future, maybe if they do get some veteran players and raise the salary cap a little. so far out of the first 67 games, record stands at 23 - 44. who else thinks is another season of around 100 games lost

I didn't know there was gonna be a Las Vegas team in the AL that was new. I thought the marlins were going there if there could not be a new stadium. But it would be cool if there was a new team, although there does not need to be so many teams.

If I remember correctly, the Devil Rays have a deadline by which they have to be out of Tropicana Field -- and since the state of Florida doesn't seem willing to help pay for new stadiums, it could be the Devil Rays that move.

 

Though, say what you want about how bad they are, according to Forbes, they're the #2 team in the League in regards to operating income.

Dude, the Yankees aren't even playing bad and when they WERE playing bad we we still only 6 games behind the Orioles and 3-4 behind you guys. I don't like to bash other teams, but do not put the Yankees in the same class as the Devil Rays.

The point is, you lost. A loss is a loss is a loss, and that goes triple against the Rays.

 

The other point is, you guys have not done well overall this season against last place teams. You got schooled by the Royals, youve lost a series to the Rays...and will probably lose this one. The Yankmes need to not be so laxadasical when it comes to playing last place teams. You cant expect to coast through just because your record is better.

If the Yankees had won against the Red Sox last night, you wouldn't have said "So what if we won." You can pretend it doesn't mean anything but every win counts and I think the Rays are doing pretty well for being in a division with 3 really strong teams that are battling closely for the top spot. I'll be anxious to see how the second game turns out.. GO RAYS! :thumbsup:
