Does anyone think that the Red Sox pitchers will pitch around Alex like it looks like more teams are beginning to do? I'm upset at Torre because I think with him batting in the fifth spot in the order he does not have enough protection, whether it's Tino, Posada, Giambi, Bernie, etc.

Any opinions?

Its possible, but you also have to think how Jorge is gotten hot lately and Martinez is still hitting the ball good, sans not a home run in a couple of games. With the lineup we have its hard to pitch around any of our hitters.

No. I don't think Tim Wakefield has much reason to pitch around A-Rod, since he owns a career .239 average against him. He's 1-9 against Matt Clement in his career, plus I don't see a guy like Matt Clement giving up free baserunners on purpose with his control problems. David Wells is another story, as Rodriguez absolutely owns him over his career. Guys like Martinez, Giambi, and Sheffield have struggled against Wells so he might rather pitch against those fellas.

I don't think so. I think you pitch to A-Rod until he proves that the Red Sox are not in his head. Kind of the exact opposite with Matsui.

The way to beat wakefield is easy. Don't swing he walks a lotta batters and once you get on base run on him. He's slow and Varitek sucks throwing out runners. He's like 1 point up on Piazza for catching basestealers. Plus varitek is catching Wake and varitek is not used to it.

Well, if the Yankees played as a team, you are probably correct. But they don't so I expect Sheffield and Arod and Porsada swinging from the heals on those super slow knucklers.

And there is something wrong with him seeing a therapist? The mans father walked out on him when he was ten, give him a break. Remeber he's a human being before he was baseball player.
