SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Manny Ramirez has a chance to reach a milestone when the Boston Red Sox close out their three-game series against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field on Sunday.

Ramirez needs one more home run to become the 39th player to reach 400 in his career. He belted his 399th in the sixth inning of Boston's 6-3 win on Saturday. Ramirez had a chance for his 19th career grand slam in the seventh inning, but struck out.

Trot Nixon came up after Ramirez and hit the grand slam that proved to be the difference for the Red Sox, who have won four of their last five games and nine of 11.

Tim Wakefield (4-1, 3.18 ERA) will be on the mound Sunday attempting to win for the fifth time in his last seven starts. The knuckleballer, who won his last two starts, allowed three runs in six innings in a 13-5 win against Oakland last Monday.

Seattle, which has lost 11 of its last 13 contests, counters with Gil Meche (2-2, 5.14). In his last outing, the righthander allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings against the New York Yankees on Monday, but that doesn't mean anything because the Yankees suck.

Meche hopes to win his first home game of the season. He is 0-2 with a 7.29 ERA in four starts at Safeco Field.

This should be an easy win, no reason for there not to be. They say it takes 2 days to adjust to the time change, and well, now it's been 2 days. I smell a butt-raping forecast for the Mariners today...

Man, I was so high on Meche two years ago in my fantasy league. We should get the win, especially since our offensive prospects are looking up.

Without looking at a weather report I'm gonna say rain. :D Roof or no roof, rain = humidity, whichis good for Wake.

I predicted that homer... I swear to god.

Summary of the inning:

Me: I bet you 5 bucks Damon gets a hit here.

My Brother: Ok

*Damon hits an infield single*

*Renteria Ks*

Me: I bet you Ortiz hits a homer here.

My Brother: Ok

*Ortiz smacks one to the warning track*

Me: Ok, Manny is gonna homer here, I can feel it this time.

My Brother: Hes gonna strikeout, 5 bucks

Me: Ok, bitch, if he homers you gotta give me the money

My Brother: Ok

*Manny spanks the s*** out of it*

Me: Wooooo! Pay up, bitch.

Manny did spank that one though. I think that hes out of his slump now. The Manny we all know and love is back (I hope...)

One of the most frusterating types of games in baseball is games when your team plays very well, except for one inning. Today, the Sox outplayed the Mariners 8 of 9 innings, but the four runs in the second really hurt. Except for that one inning, Wake pitched another great game. It's always frusterating when this happens.
