haha, looking at guybos website is funny. Why? Cause he's an idiot. I mean, look at this:

Come On Theo- you are a stinkin' genius- please give us something better to work with! Why did you have to let Orlando go?

IF this guy saw Orlando's stats as of now he'd know why. .309 OBP .360 SLG .253 AVG.

renteria owns him in those categories. 343 OBP .384 SLG .278 AVG.

Renteria has scored 68 runs and orlando scored nearly half.

But this trade will haunt the Bloody Stockings for 4 years and all this time what to do with one of the hottest SS prospects in baseball (Hanley Ramirez)

Haha, he wasn't traded. I love it when these ignorant fans who bash players don't even know hoiw players got there.

Thanks for playing, but you lost. OWNED

Sorry that the truth hurts guys, but you should keep this chatter in the thread where it belongs- the one I started specifically to start an argument on the worst defensive SS in baseball, in the Fights and Crap forum. This thread is dedicated to our k machine that is Bellhorn.

I kind of wish he had stayed healthy though because he would have set a record for most Ks in a season. Graffanino realizes that this is his big chance now that he's out of 2nd rate baseball cities and has come to the big time in Boston. We'll see how he plays in October, I guess that's the ultimate statement right there. His glove is fantastic too.

This guy is the WORST shortstop in the Major Leagues today. He should be sent to AAA- except for that $8Mill/year he's pulling down. He figures "Hey- I made it, now time for semi-retirement!" I guess LaRussa was right- he can't play in a big market, he doesn't have the head for it.

how low can you go dude to spend all hour of the night on an assinine web site to promote something that wont even happen? Mark my words you will see Edgahhh in the Sox lineup for next season

Edgar's here for the forseeable future. Especially because he's said he'll change positions if/when Hanley hits the scene, which will mean he could probably play third base or Hanley could play third.... I'd be surprised if Renteria doesn't finish that contract as a Red Sox. Plus, he's a bit overpriced at $10 million so he'd be a hard sell even if the Sox tried to move him.

He should not change positions. Who pays someone that amount of money and then makes them change positions?

There is a precedent. Another SS in NY did that a couple years back. But I think Youk is the 3B of the future for the Sox, but I will miss watching Billy Baseball. He is a baseball player through and through and will be sorely missed. He isn't a shameless self-promoter, has a solid glove and a solid bat and he's just a solid guy. What about Hanley in Center Field? I hope we don't have room in CF next year, but there is talk of Hanley moving there should Damon move on.

Bellhorn gets the Unsung Hero Award. He's the guy nobody notices, or underappreciates when they do.

I totally agree with this statement. He may strike out a lot, and a lot of the time it is looking, not swinging, but when things are down to the wire he'll pull it out and come through in the clutch. I'm a fan

Ok I'm guessing you're like 9 or 10 so I'll explain some things to you instead of telling you how dumb you are.

A Gold Glove is the award given to 18 players each year (9 per league) for being the best defensive player at his position in his league. Edgar Renteria has 2 of them.

Good Defense? Check

A Silver Slugger is the award give to 18 players per year (9 per league) for being the best offensive player at his position in his league. Edgar Renteria has 3 of them.

Good Offense? Check

The All Star Game is the game played in the middle of each season where the best players in the league, as voted on by the fans, players, and managers, get together and play a game league against league. Edgar Renteria has had 4 appearances at All Star games.

Widely know as one of the best players in the game by fans, players, and managers? Check

Now that you know things about baseball and realize how wrong and stupid you were, I will now give you your punishment.

You're to go sit on a stool in the corner facing the wall with a tall pointy cap on. You're going to sit there and think about what you have done. When you think you're ready you can get up and go apologize to Edgar for all the mean, nasty, and uncalled for things you have said about him.

Then, and only then can you go back outside and continue to play with the rest of the kindergarteners.

wow stop the presses haha Bellhorn hit a solo homerun to left field last night, but still in same game he fielded his 3rd error in the 8th game with Pawtucket

5 for 33 (.152 avg) 1 Walk, 10 Ks, 1 Double, 1 HR, 5 RBIs, 4 Run scored

Let's sign him to an extention... duh.. I think not. Can we end this thread ? Most of it has nothing to do with Bellhorn.

from providence journal

Mark Bellhorn, who homered yesterday for Triple-A Pawtucket, is starting to feel the pressure of how well Tony Graffanino has played in his absence. Bellhorn, who is rehabbing a sprained thumb with Pawtucket, was on the field Monday night when the video board at McCoy Stadium showed Graffanino's three-run homer against the Rangers. Bellhorn may or may not be activated by the Red Sox next week.

Tony G followed up his great game on tuesday with the finale game of the sweep doubling deep one to left field the other to right field, a 3 RBI performance

Graff is making a statement and marK "with a capital K" Bellhorn is fading into memory. The thing about marK is that he may K a lot- OK, a REALLY LOT, but he was the starting 2B when the Sox won it all so there's something there it would seem. Can Graff keep it up? Will marK come back and start or play off the bench? It's not like Cora is really making a statement with his bat or glove in Boston, so maybe he's expendable?

I'd like to see marK on the bench sharing time with Graff.

Graffanino looks like one of those guys who steps up his game when playing for a good team. I dont think any of us expected him to be doing this. A steady backup to secure the infield...sure. But wow this guy is on a tear.

......and how about Gabe Kapler pulling a Pete Rose at third. Kapler rules!

haha ok in your mind edgar is striking out a lot, 66 through august 11 which is kinda f***in average for any player this time of year and in the ranks he is 44th in most in the American League. But then you jump to Bellhorn should be sharing time with Tony G!!? what the f*** are you thinking dude, Bellhorn should just become a backup player for rest of 05 if he does come back to the Red Sox, which is so far looking all that not likely. Which does come back, will come into late innings as a defensive replacement, Tony G is our starting 2nd baseman now no question about it.
