  1. It started prior to that in the offseason. He’s a catcher now, so they’re predicting a switch.
  2. They have stability in the ownership and front office. They don’t change philosophies and front office personnel every 3-4 years. NYY have what the Sox ownership has stripped this organization of. Stability and loyalty to the process and their word means spit. he won’t, but Henry should sell and allow someone who really cares about something other than himself own the team. f him.
  3. Heyman is probably going to be at 1b at some point too.
  4. Same. I’ll take all the money too so I don’t have to send a top prospect back. Maybe a couple guys from 11-20. He’sd be a perfect fit too. Henry is only spending 200m in real money. Dude can afford a 10m tax to win a ring if the AAV goes there. I mean, either they stop being cowards and really go for it or sell. Don’t half azz it, like I think they will. Ive heard a couple names bantered about here to trade for, but IMHO none of them are game changers. Alonso would be.
  5. In the 21-30 prorspects and Mason white as well. All of them have some pop in there bat. like Heyman and Mason White are guys to keep an eye on as well..
  6. There’s not much from 11-20. All the talent that has proven themselves so far are top ten. Besides Cespedes and Soto just a bunch of middling prospects. Wehunt Uberstine Romero and the like…they won’t get you much back. if they do go for it they should see if the Os, if they’re out of it, will want to rid themselves of the Alonso deal. He’s got 21hr after heating up mid may. I’ll take him for 4 more. I’d also go get another starter because we won’t have Tolle or Bennett if they care about their arms. but my big question is when/if our starters will all be back this year, and in what condition. If they’re truly going for it this year they had better win it all because they have a legit shot to stockpile prospects/players to keep for this offseason or for trades. this team sucked for 3 months, goes on a hot streak vs a decimated NYY team and all the worst teams in MLB and now all of a sudden some think they’re legit contenders? Nope. I’m not there yet.
  7. Valera is recovering from TJS he had this year. Don’t look to him until 29 or beyond.i won’t count on Houck Crawford Oviedo. Bres did this year and traded a lot of depth. The first 5 you listed, when healthy, are probably the starting 5 next year. I'm all about tons of depth for the rotation. im not moving Eyanson or Arias this deadline. In fact I'm still a seller at this point if Im the Sox.
  8. After being given $300 million over 10 years and the label of face of the franchise I think he deserved at least enough respect to talk to him before all this happened. Breslow‘s answer was “I didn’t sign him” while I don’t agree with Devers behavior and he should’ve handled it better, I truly understand him feeling the way he did after being lied to and disrespected.
  9. Why so excited about Roman Anthony when he hasn’t done much in MLB yet? I mean, I get it to a point, but To expect him come back and be some sort of offensive threat is a little premature if you ansk me. He was batting 200 when he got hurt. crochet hasn’t even thrown a baseball yet. Neither has Connolly early. How is Suarez‘s groin? Do you expect them to come back soon and be at the top of their game? Bennett will NOT be a factor due to IP limits. Tolle is almost at his IP from last year. 10 more ip and he’s there, so. I’m guessing he’ll be gassed bye mid September. if they do what they did last night and only throw him 3-4ip and mix him with Bello? Maybe. we might need another starter down the stretch like we did with Peavey for Iggy trade. Also we need a bat that will make a difference. Not some middling player just to say we got someone. If we think we’re getting these pieces by giving up our crap then think again. If We truly wanna have a team that can legitimately compete for a World Series say goodbye to the top few prospects. Not sure we’re there this year. we played a decimated Yankees team, Colorado, LAA, NYM…it wasn’t like we played the cubbies dodgers or brewers. It was nice to see but let’s not fool ourselves. We still have some important pieces needed and a bunch still hurt
  10. Are they ready to give up their top guys to get the players, rental or not, that can put them in a position of legit WS contender? I wouldn’t. Not this year. Marginal players won’t push this team. They need legit Power to go with Contreras and maybe even a starter due to Tolle close to his IP last year already@120ip… He’s got 15ip in AAA as well as his 84-85ip in Boston so far. . Bennett will be at his inning limit before the season is over as well. If we do go for it we should get a starter Like the Jake Peavy deal back in the day. Someone to help get us through September. I’m not sure who’s available for HR power, but I’m sure it’ll cost a lot. Crochet and an early have not thrown a baseball yet. How bad is Suarez’ groin? Will All three come back firing on all cylinders? We will NEED all three along with Gray to be taken seriously. The other two could hit their walls anytime over the next month or two. im waiting to change my mind on being buyers. To me, we should still be sellers. I’m not convinced this is our year to sell the farm to go for it. definitely Chapman and Gray. Maybe a Guerrero IKF too.
  11. Yeah, I was hoping for a 3b type with a bat too, or another up the middle slap hitter. more contact than power
  12. We pick a SS who wasn’t projected until the 3rd round at 20? so the metrics guys are going with contact and not power? pretty sure this dude would have been there in round 2 or 3.
  13. Some fans need to realize that Crochet had lengthy injury stints in the past so this isn’t so new and to not expect him to be anything close to himself this year. If he makes it back. Same with Ranger. Dude starts 26ish games a year, but I think he’ll be back in a couple three weeks
  14. Not one guy I wouldn’t trade on that list for the right price.
  15. You’re right Justin Verlander is definitely not human…I’m just saying that there are big obstacles in our way of getting to a ring this year. Way more teams in much better positions. I don’t want to overuse young guys when this team is NOT a real legit contender this year. We’d also be selling the future, which I believe is really good with the players we have almost ready for their turn in the show.
  16. If Guerrero keeps up the good outings there will be a bunch of teams looking for 103 out of the pen…could even start a little second level bidding war
  17. Has Crochet even started throwing yet? I haven’t heard anything.
  18. I know butHe just returned last year and they will NOT throw him 172. I doubt his arm would go that far at this point anyway….
  19. Bennett just got back from TJS just last year. No way they throw him 172ip. No way. He’s on a strict IP and it’s NOT 172. Tolle won’t even go that far. He’s had 120ip as his max career IP and he’s around 90 now. Figure 30-40 is more than last year is what the6 usually do. Tolle and Bennett will be gassed come mid September. i mean, they could push them a little but i doubt either will have much left come Oct.. Bello still blows this year and do you want to count on Sandoval after two years off? He’s an opener at this point. 4-5ip. THIS is why I bitch about not having enough pitching depth. You need starters 1-10 ready, not 1-7 or 8.Sandy would be starter 9 but he’s only an opener at this point.
  20. Tolle and Bennett will hit innings limits. Tolle is a months worth of starts away before he exceeds last years IP, and Bennett is on a strictpitch count per game and innings limit this year after his return from TJS last year. when will Crochet, who’s had a long injury history be ready? Suarez is out for at least a couple more starts. He always misses 6-7 games a year. Early has a bad elbow, which isn’t good. were playing our IF with all AAAA type guys besides Durbin. Our best hitter is going away for 4 games and we don’t know who’s starting tomorrow night because our starting depth was all traded away. Roman Anthony hasn’t proved anything I MLb except he’s looking pretty soft along with Mayer. im just not as optimistic as some. We would have to give up a bunch of prospects to have a legit shot at the World Series.
  21. I’m all about kicking in a few mil to make things happen. Maybe a better return, which is what this would be all about for us. also, Henry is only spending around 195-200m in real money this year and getting rid of their contracts will put the team under the AAV tax line they’re currently under, and where Henry would rather be to save a couple million.
  22. Unproven kids (Anthony/Campbell) who he deemed the future. Haven’t proved one thing in MLB and were given 23.5 per between them, but not the young LH GG Ofer who has proven himself? Odd.
  23. Just depends what’s coming back. what I don’t like is paying these kids before they prove anything in MLB. I would have paid Abreu instead of Anthony, who’s proved nothing in MLB and appears a little soft. the fact the Sox haven’t even made an offer to Abreu after GGs and the AS game makes me think they’re not going to ever.
