He has a hard time laying off low outside sliders and pitchers have their way with him with that pitch, The fact that he is probably a 3 win player is scary, because his talent says he should be much better than that.

I agree 100%. And it is why I blame Dave for the mess we are in! He trades for every broke down reliever known to man. Not to mention mop up man abad, who is a bad pitcher. He put third base in the hands of Pablo with nothing as far as a backup plan after he traded away Shaw and Moncada. Ps: I totally support trading moncada and kopeck for sale, but he left us reliant on Pablo with no backup plan at third base. Under his esteemed leadership most of our brightest and best have deserted the operations department and left for greener pastures. Dave needs a taxi ride to the airport and a one way plane ticket to anywhere.

Seems like this team is looking for someone to step up. In my mind, we need mookie to get hot as fish grease for the rest of the season.

And we have Johnson an Velasquez in Pawtucket. And no, our hitting is not good enough to get this team to a World Series. But hopefully Dave makes a deal for a real bat with some pop.

Moreland is in a horrible slump and Farrell needs to move him out of the four hole. This is beyond embarrassing. The guy is hitting less than 200 over the past several weeks. Our lineup should start with betts, benintendi, bogey, and then Bradley or Hanley. Get Moreland out of there before he costs us more games. It would be nice to trade for beltre and hit him 4th.

Groome's stuff is electric and is why he is ranked. His curveball might be the best in minor league baseball. At worst #2 behind Giolitto. Over the next three years, he either becomes the next Lester or the next trey ball. Can the Red Sox minor league pitching program produce starters? We are about to find out because matta is also in Greenville. Ps: the Red Sox minor league pitching program knows how to turn #1 draft picks into relievers and houck is the headed down that road. We just may not know it yet?
