  1. Why is a bad pitcher like abad still on this team?
  2. I keep thinking mookie is due to break out at some point real soon.
  3. I like the idea of hitting bogey lower in the order. I think hanley is playing with one good shoulder and should probably be on the dl.
  4. I feel this is what our offense will look like for the rest of the year unless mookie gets hot. Hitting is contagious and right now our lineup can not catch anything.
  5. Our offense hit a new level of frustration tonight!
  6. Kimbrel serving up meatballs in the 9th?
  7. Really hoping we pass on Frazier. I do not see any 3rd basemen available that we should be pursuing. we need to stay in house until Devers is brought up.
  8. Very unfortunate ending to this situation. I really can not believe ownership just ate that contract.
  9. When it comes to trading for Right Handed Relievers Dave's record with the Sox is less than stellar. Yes, we had hits ie: Ziegler, but the misses have been huge. (Thornburg and Smith come to mind) Plus Dave tends to overpay for relievers. Maybe Dave should sit out this trade deadline.
  10. Our 2017 starting rotation got off to a rocky start, mostly due to injuries, I think. But lately, they have started to come together as a group and pitch to their potential. Sale continues to pitch well. He has been better than advertised and well worth the price of admission. Pomeranz has been a huge surprise and is really spinning the curveball well. Porcello appears to be figuring out how to make the sinker sink. He is always going to throw a meatball or two per game, but if the sinker is sinking, he can be an above average starter. Every game Price's control is improving, especially on the secondary stuff (not named changeups). He has more velocity on the fastball this year than last year and gets nice movement on it. We need Rodriguesz to come off the DL and work his way back to pre DL form. And we still have Johnson and Velaquez at Pawtucket if needed. Given everything the starting rotation has been through this season, if we get Rodriguez healthy and the rest of the starters stay healthy for the next three months, we should be in position to make the post season.
  11. I have a couple observations about Red Sox hitting this season. 1.) Nearly every batter on this team struggles to hit sliders. It is why mediocre pitchers can look like Cy Young against us. 2.) This lineup lacks home run power. We continue to rank near the bottom of baseball in home runs. There are games against good pitching when you can not hope to continually put together three hits per inning to create one run. 3.) Several guys, Hanley, Moreland Pedroia, Bogey are clearly playing hurt. 4.) We have a line up full of sheep. Not one veteran leader in the bunch. Our guys also appear to be waiting for someone else to step up. Our offense scores two or three runs, then goes to sleep for the rest of the game. Maybe a veteran leader with a killer instinct is needed to keep pushing the sheep. 5.) In game adjustments or lack thereof. Our guys are very rigid in their approach at the plate. Going into a game they expect to be pitched a certain way. If a pitcher pitches them differently, they are cooked for the game because our guys do not make in game adjustments. After the game they review the tape and then make adjustments for the next game, but in game, our guys are rigid as stone.
