  1. The number of runs is not as important as timely hitting.
  2. With young out of here at season's end, we have an opening for a fourth outfielder/dh. Seems chavis would fill that role nicely.
  3. Sale and betts are must signs. I think bogey and Bradley are represented by boras and while we have had a good relationship with boras, they will still be difficult signings. Maybe price opts out and makes this a non issue.
  4. Ockimey with a tater tonight.
  5. I agree. This lineup looks like it could get the job done for us for the next couple of months.
  6. Even during the past 4 months, there have been pockets where the offense wakes up and plays well for a week, then it is back to zombie land. But this week feels different. There is an energy that was not there previously. If the pitching holds and the offense produces, we could win this division,
  7. I support this line of thinking.
  8. One more tater for barfield and that will give us 4 minor leaguers this year with 20 plus taters. When has that happened last?
  9. I think we leave devers in the 5 hole and let him provide protection for the guys in front of him.
  10. And that is the rub. There was tons of pre-trade chatter about injuries or predicted injuries to both players. Yet he chose to ignore it and overpay for both.
  11. Seems to me like chavis would be better served learning to play left field.
  12. Bogey is still not getting the job done offensively. Do we need to rest or dl him?
  13. We added a reliever and an infielder and did not give up any of our top prospects. We improved the team and did not overpay or cripple our future. Maybe desperate dave is learning.
  14. I think Hanley technically qualifies as home grown since he started with us.
  15. Chavis with another tater tonight.
  16. Seems to me we can sit hanley or Moreland and dh pedroia and keep Nunez at second. Keeping pedroia off the field will only help the knee. I can not believe that ten days on the bench will stop the barking.
  17. That is really good news. I hope he does not suffer any setbacks or reinsured himself. The more solid arms, the better.
  18. Could not agree more. We have one of the best pitching staffs in the American League and they are part of that success. Any hitting we get is a bonus.
  19. Both have 20 plus taters this year. i don't think anybody in Boston has hit 20 yet,
  20. I really like chavis as our dh/4th outfielder starting 2019.
  21. Reed gives up a tater. Kimbrel struggled terribly and then gives up the lead. Suddenly the 8th and 9th inning don't look so locked down!
  22. Seems like our run production improved when devers and Nunez showed up and Vazquez got hot.
  23. Chavis and Brentz with taters tonight.
  24. Can Nunez play first base?
  25. Little infielders are generally quicker with a great first step. We seem to like tall pitchers but developing them seems to befuddle us.
