Should desperate dave invest in a reliever this off season like wade Davis? Melanson got 62 for 4 years. A deal similar to that should get Davis. It would solve our 8th inning troubles and we would not be dependent on smith or Thornburg.

With a proper off season, I am thinking Velasquez might have an outside shot of winning the fifth spot in the rotation. A competition between Wright and Johnson for the fifth spot would probably result in both being injured.

Hanley needs a strong veteran presence in the clubhouse to keep him focused. Unfortunately varitek and Ortiz are not coming back through the door. My hope is we get a first baseman in th offseason that can be a leader in rg clubhouse and focus guys like Hanley,

Price has a ton of innings on that arm. the gamble is that price could return for the playoffs with some rest vs. getting the surgery now and missing the rest of this year and next year. Clearly price wants to contribute, but will the elbow let him?

I believe trey ball has major league stuff. Once he gets the legs, hips, shoulders, arm, wrist and head all working in unison on a repeatable delivery, he will be a devastating major league pitcher.
